I think he was checking to make sure that he was using his right hand. Let's see... watch is on the left hand. So use the other hand. First make sure heart is still beating.

Post by: Rush on August 30, 2021, 09:37:40 AM: While I don't disagree with the sentiment, I watched the actual video, and it is very brief, not as disrespectful as the still shot implies, and it was supposedly after the casket(s) had already passed, plus there are claims he was due to attend to something related to the hurricane. While all of that is a lefty excuse, if he was mentally ALL THERE he would NOT have checked his watch at that moment. He would be aware of the optics and that he was being filmed and photographed. But he isn't all there.

It says more about how cognitively challenged he is than about his lack of empathy, but the lack of empathy is still there. Demented people often lose the ability to feel emotion (blunted affect aka emotional blunting). But in his case there's plenty of evidence he never gave a crap about the little people. He's just totally lost any ability to fake it.

So like I said, I agree with the sentiment, but I don't like picking one still for propaganda. I saw enough of that with Trump. Of course, they do it much, much worse to Trump or anyone not on the approved Party membership list.
