This is something you rarely see. A socialist and a classical liberal and, well I can’t put it better than this person down in the comment section:

This was a riveting dialogue...two intelligent and curious 'gentle-men' engaging in reasonable thought with their egos sitting quietly on the sidelines.

It’s long, an hour and a half, but well worth it. I listen to stuff like this with hands free Bluetooth while doing mindless menial chores.

Here is a leftist who listens openly to the other side without hate, and Peterson makes clear that both liberals and conservatives are necessary for a functioning society. Brand asks, “how do you fix the injustices in society without top down control?” (I’m paraphrasing.) and Jordan responds, “at the level of the individual, not with group politics” and that we must maintain freedom of speech and open dialogue between the left and right, otherwise tyranny (from either side!) will take over.

This is so much better than Sean Hannity tearing up and talking over a liberal guest, or liberal talk show host talking over a conservative guest and then telling her to get the fuck out. (Whoopi Goldberg to Judge Jeanine.)

A few weeks ago I wrote a letter to Trump asking him to please ramp up the prison reform. I've been watching "60 Days In" and Christina Randall videos and I'm horrified at the conditions in our prisons and how many people are unjustly incarcerated.  Not only do I care about these people, I also think Trump needs the black vote to win this year, and blacks are disproportionately affected by our horrible prison situation.  Last week I got a snail mail note from him which I'm sure is signed by a machine but whatever. That was dated February 10, and look what he does on February 27!  It's like I've found Aladdin's magic lamp!

Former NFL safety Jack Brewer declared President Trump the “first black president” during a round table discussion with black supporters Thursday.

Mr. Trump sat down in the White House Cabinet Room for a discussion with leaders from the black community, including Mr. Brewer, Diamond and Silk, and Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece Alveda King, among others.

They talked about a range of topics, but the one that particularly touched Mr. Brewer was Mr. Trump’s accomplishments on prison reform.

“I’ve been a Democrat all my life but I’m not a Democrat now,” the former Vikings player-turned-ordained minister said. “You’ve changed me. You touched me. And you made my work go to another level. You inspire me. And every time I go into those prisons and I ask my guys how many of them had their sentences reduced and they raise their hands, I know I’m doing God’s work and I thank you for that.”

Trying to figure out who all I'm voting for in this election.

The craziest stuff, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senator says about gun violence:  Guns are not the problem (Yay)  90% of school shootings can be traced back to anti-depressants. THEREFORE:   if you're prescribed anti-depressants, you can't live in the same home as someone who owns guns.

ARRRRGGGHH!!  The idiocy. First of all, the school shooters are crazy first, on ADs second. Maybe it's the crazy, not the AD that makes them shoot up schools.

Secondly, 90% of school shooters being on AD is not the same as saying 90% of people on ADs will shoot up schools.  Probably 99.9999% of people on ADs do not shoot up schools.  You want to deprive 99.9999% of people on ADs of their second amendment right to protect themselves because of the extremely rare case of school shooters.

That's a REPUBLICAN.

Spin Zone / Out of touch elite left doesn't do gay rights right
« on: February 20, 2020, 08:02:54 AM »
This guy nails exactly my rage against the left's LBGTQRXYZ activism.  This guy is working to decriminalize homosexuality in other countries where you are executed for the crime of being gay.  Here in the US it has come down to whining about which bathroom to use, or being offended if someone says "he" instead of "she".  And worse, it has become politicized and being used to shame people for voting for Trump for example, which may have nothing whatsoever to do with their position on gays (me for example).

His story about the march was roughly the dividing line. Their cause was all my gay friends' cause and very dear to my heart. They wanted no more than equality, tolerance and acceptance. They didn't want to be murdered just because they walked out of a gay bar. They didn't want to lose their job because it became known they were gay, and they wanted to be able to choose a same sex partner for life with all the same economic and legal benefits. They wanted to be loved and accepted by their families. Back then, these things were where their focus was.

They didn't want to force other people to speak a certain way or ram the "out" lifestyle down the throats of general society. And they NEVER EVER would use hatred as a weapon. Maybe most gays are still that way, but the liberal elite has turned this cause into an ugly campaign of oppression and hatred, against everyone they perceive isn't completely in lock step with them.
