Title: Black Teen Shares His Experience Volunteering For Trump Campaign
Post by: Jaybird180 on February 08, 2016, 11:39:35 AM
I've watched the video, waiting for others to see it.  Then let's discuss

Watched it.  By the end of the video I was feeling some hostility toward him.  His resemblance to a young Barack Obama set off some warning bells, because I think Barack Obama has divided this nation perhaps irretrievably, and I see him as having scourged our country with some of the worst presidential acts in history.  But that's another topic.

I haven't seen anything anywhere to indicate Trump is anti-black and "wants to make American white again."  Concern for Islamic terrorists is real.

We have all experienced what this young man is describing, for various reasons (gender, appearance, age, and so forth).

I feel that his case is weak, and falls easily into the category of "when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."  It would be interesting, though he did not talk about it, to know what his experiences were in similar demographic groups that were not involved in a political campaign.

Most here who watch it will probably be disgusted by the time the second "microaggression" comes around.

"Concern for Islamic terrorists is real."
Becky, I recently changed my stance on Trump's proposal to close the borders after hearing Minister Farrakhan's explanation.  He agreed with the idea, but put it in a way that I hadn't previously considered.  Slowly, after consideration, I came into agreement.

The question is: did Farrakhan change your view or was your view changed because Farrakhan said it?

You're so transparent; smh.  Instead of saying you're white, why don't I just call you clear?  But anywho...
Farrakhan's words on the Syrian Immigration issue helped me take the emotional charge out of Trump's statements and I could look at it again.

I've said (in other contexts) there are some things that are difficult for people to accept simply because of the source.  I am not immune to the phenomenon, though I try.  I had a real opportunity with Trump because I knew nothing about the man except from his RE business and his TV show (which I didn't watch), and I purposefully didn't study his politics.  His previous statements were pretty outlandish and said in a cowboy manner, so it was easy for me to draw a mental same/same with his position on Syrian immigrants.  But I guess since I've been "sullied" by his politics anyhow (thanks MSM) I figure now's the time to see what he's actually talking about.

The guy went into the volunteer position with an agenda. He begins the video by saying he's an oppressed person in this society yet fails to articulate how he's oppressed and the interviewer didn't push him on it. The best he could come up with are the "microagressions" people had towards him. He had no real proof of any racism or hostility towards him so to justify his position of being oppressed he used the word "microagression", which is nearly impossible to prove one way or the other.

The country was divided long before BHO.  Here's an example from Oct 3, 1995

Actually my question was genuine.  There are some, myself included at times, who are inclined to believe any message provided by a messenger with whom they believe.  There are others, myself included most times, who believe the message after critical analysis of the information provided.  My hypothesis is that most of us combine the two examples.

It is easy for the Black community to use skin color as an excuse for under achievement.  There I said it.  It is also my belief that it isn't totally their fault.  I blame the U.S. Government for creating a dependent class of Blacks and others!

What's your point? The guy is as guilty as sin. Are you saying only the white people knew this?

Anyone who says microagression is automatically a loser.

That in itself shows classic microaggression.
