And these people wonder why we don't trust them.

The lies surrounding the scamdemic and virtue signaling about masks is every bit as dishonest as the democrat communists lies about the fake global warming scam.

Lies: they're all the liberals have, so they abuse them constantly.

I’ve been sanding the stain off our front steps and landing with an orbital sander. Since we had a fair number of those surgical masks I used those while sanding. They helped a bit vs no mask at all, but I still get some sawdust in my nose. And the average size of sawdust chips is several orders of magnitude larger than any virus or droplet it may inhabit.

Next time I’ll use a better mask.

It’s obvious to me that air is going to try to go around the mask, not through it. The mask itself is “resistance” in terms of fluid dynamics. Air will go the path of least resistance. Proof of that is your glasses fogging up. Some goes through the magic square, but a lot completely bypasses it.

We know that effective masks must be airtight against your skin forcing the air to go through the filter. All the experts know this which is another reason the whole mask thing is a big fucking lie. If it does any good at all, it will only be to stop big globs of snot when you sneeze. That’s it. And then you will still get that on your hands as you fiddle and fool with the thing, stick your finger in there to scratch your nose, etc.

The entire purpose of the surgical mask is to prevent doctors and nurses from spitting or snotting into the open interior of a person. That’s it. That’s what they were designed for and medical personnel know how to keep their hands completely away from it, how to follow sterile protocol in every move they make. The public doesn’t. It is completely irresponsible to lead the public to believe that surgical masks are appropriate to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.

I undergo yearly training on bloodborne pathogens and it requires me to be fitted and tested for PPE, including mask.  The lowest mask we use are N95.

You are absolutely correct on these cheap paper and cloth mask that the government are attempting to force people to wear.  they do nothing but virtue signal and show compliance.

But yet we still have the maskholes screaming and demanding everyone should be compliant and wear the mask, "NO QUESTIONS ASKED OR PERMITTED".

Sure, but from what I’ve seen, particularly where masks are mandated, Americans have they safest germ-free chins in the developed world.

But in actuality, masks are worn so the patient's gore doesn't get on the docs.

That wasn’t its original purpose. It might be a side benefit but it’s mainly to keep pathogens out of the patient.

Don't medical staff were face shields to protect themselves from fluids?  iow - a procedure mask isn't there to protect the wearer from fluids.

I think so. The mask protects the patient from pathogens from the doctors’ mouth and nose and the clear plastic face shield protects the doctor from the patient’s bodily fluid splatter, such as blood. Hence why they wear both.

Tuberculosis (doctor to patient) was a concern back when they first started using masks and HIV and hepatitis are a concern now (patient to doctor) hence face shields, is my understanding.

That's not what a doctor told me his medical professors told him.

Well it’s what Google told me.  ;D

And my daughter who’s a nurse. But I confess I’m not a medical professional so what do I know.
