I ridiculed Obama for saying he would meet with dictators without preconditions so I suppose I should be concerned. However, unlike B. H. Obama who would spread his cheeks and take it from any despot, I sense Trump will not act similarly.

I agree he will not. Trump is not someone to give away anything without securing something concrete. He will walk away from the table, hold a press conference, shrug his shoulders and say "they didn't want to trade, they just wanted us to give away".
OMG, no wonder the Dems like KJU so much - he's one of their folks, hand out, ready to support them in return for getting paid.

This is pretty serious stuff. I'm concerned that Trump will try too hard. Makes me recall Reagan walking away from the Soviets in Helsinki(?) back in the day. It took another couple months, but the wait was worth it. They finally caved and the USSR is no longer.

Some are already saying "Kim is playing Trump". That is a ridiculous charge to make before the game even starts. The only reason Kim is willing to talk is because our sanctions have virtually bankrupted them, and that is a "win" for Trump already. I just can't see Trump being played in these talks.

If something good does come out of this meeting we all know Trump will get the credit he deserves ;D
Now if something goes wrong it will be Trump blew his chance at peace.

The MSM feels they must make the President look bad to appease their handlers. Plan on CNN to fawn all over Kim and his sister and to make it look like any agreement the President irons out that somehow Trump is taking advantage of this country. I guarantee you CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WashPo and ABCCBSNBC are already writing the scripts. Oh, and they'll throw in that Putin is somehow involved because, well, you know, collusion and all.

Nah. I think if Trump gets a good deal, they will say it would have happened anyway because of Obama's policies.
But deep down, I keep wondering if there isn't SOMETHING he could do that even the MSM would have to admit was good. Even if it comes wit a qualifier.

State of the union showed minority unemployment down significantly, and it all started mid-2018. Libs just sat on their hands. Don't expect a zebra to change its stripes. The MSM is what they are, and to endorse anything Trump does would be heresy of the highest order.

I don't watch mad-cow but somehow I saw a blurb a few months ago with her ranting about Trump having his finger on the 'nuke button', and how Trump was gloating how is button was bigger than anyone else. She was all put-out that we might vanish in a cloud of radioactive dust because Trump was going to get us into a hot nuke exchange. Now - Trump agrees to sit down and de-escalate, and try to come to terms with a reduced nuclear threat to the US by negotiating, and she's spewing negativity again.
Trump can't win with the MSM. They are on a hate crusade WRT Trump and nothing will sway that. He could fund a cure for cancer and the left would complain about the cost and how long it took to get here. What a fem hygiene product, and the container it was wrapped in. Glad I don't have to listen to that cnut.
