Wow.  Just saw this.  He had a local connection to me as he grew up in Lower Merion and went to Lower Merion High School.  His Dad was local, and I saw his Dad play when I was a kid because he went to the same college my Dad did.  La Salle College (now University).

After the NBA, his Dad, Joe Bryant played in Japan and that's where I believe Kobe was born and hence the name before moving back to the USA.

He was only 41.  Sikorsky S-76 or so the news said.

Now confirmed his thirteen year old daughter was on board also. They were apparently headed to a basketball game of hers with another girl from the team, a parent and the pilot.

Kobe Bryant's rape trial was dropped because the witness refused to testify after an undisclosed settlement.

But I'll bet that many of his ardent grieving supporters, including most of Hollywood and the NBA still hate Trump because of his pussy comments.  Personally, I'm getting sick of hearing about Kobe.  I do feel sorry for his daughter, the pilot and other passengers and the helicopter though.

The case is basically he said she said. Pretty much this: naive 19 year old excited to meet the famous Bryant ends up in his hotel room where he, a red blooded 24 year old male, gets a little too aggressive making the moves. She resists mildly and allegedly says “no” but doesn’t scream for help. She attempts to move away from him but isn’t slapping, kicking and violently fighting. He interprets her lukewarm resistance as “lips may say no no but body language says yes yes” which in reality is indeed a game many females play. He (wrongly) assumes she even likes being dominated a bit, and the fact that he has another partner who definitely likes to play rough reinforces his misunderstanding. Keep in mind, the guy himself is only 24, still quite naive himself about human nature, about differences between individuals.

But this quote from the woman says it all:

Quote
“When I started to get a little bit more aggressive, tried harder to get away, that’s when he stopped,”

So when she made it clear she meant it, he stopped, before climaxing even. Seems clear to me he thought she was consenting because if he was truly raping her why wouldn’t he have finished? He even complains he had to jerk off after she left.

That doesn’t make what he did right by any means. In hindsight he should have accounted for his fame putting him in a position of power making a star struck fan reluctant to go against him, therefore he was taking advantage of her, plus she was still just a teen but again he himself was barely out of his own teens. On the other hand, this “naive” girl had sex with another person within a day of the alleged attack, had a history of mental instability and admitted she lied to the police, so, she’s a known liar. Doesn’t necessarily mean she lied about the encounter but it doesn’t help us believe her side either.

In the end Kobe did have hindsight, and insight, and came to understand how the two had misunderstood each other in the encounter. He learned from the experience, and she ended up with a nice financial settlement. Maybe the biggest lesson he learned was, much better to pay for it up front than try to get it for free and end up being arrested for rape.  $500 for a hooker? Or $2million to settle out of court with this b!tch. Shaq tried to tell me.....

I guess that could have been me at 24, except that I didn't have millions of dollars.

But my real point was how would the song differ if the story were about a 24 yr old Trump?

It is probably a whole lot of us. I was the 19 year old girl, but the difference is that I got “a little bit more aggressive” well before the penis got to the vagina. No rape, no harm done. Although I will grant that the “choking” (he never cut off her air) might have frightened her into thinking passive submission was a better way to handle it. I wasn’t there, I’m not going to judge what she did except to say that it seems very easy to believe that neither of them was wrong in their own interpretation of the encounter.

But this just goes to illustrate the fundamental problem with the notion of consent and sexual assault: it goes to the alleged attacker’s belief.  If he truly believes she has given consent then he is innocent of malevolent intent.  But these days it seems to only matter what the alleged victim believed. Hence the ridiculous situation today of men wanting to get written notarized permission before making any sort of a move on a woman. Takes all the fun out of the mating dance IMO.

And yes I got your point about Trump. Absolutely.

Isn’t it hilarious that these Trump-hating feminists are so offended he said “pussy” and yet they wear a big pink knit vagina on their head in public?

^^^^^I was raised as a gentleman by my parents.  I took it seriously.  When a woman said no, that was it.  End of story.  Also, I no longer felt romantically attracted at that point.  Why would any man want a woman that didn't want him?  Mutual attraction and consent is necessary for that.
