31 days to go till the end of an ERROR
-
As y'all know, I am not a huuuuuuuge Trump fan. However, he is better than Hillary or any current crop of Democrats which have embraced Social, and Economic Justice, i.e. Totalitarian Communism. I truly believe that.
I hope his ego doesn't go out of control, and he sticks to the basics of improving the economy, and creating jobs for the American worker.

I don't see the ego getting in the way. Trump is a very successful businessman having already accomplished much in his life. And he's done the celebrity thing, so that's not new either. Where he has struggled with is politics and just how vicious the left really is and also the extent the media will tear down and slander, and even outright lie to promote their agenda.
Trump comes from a life where he's had anything he wants and has accomplished a lot. The presidency is a way to cement a legacy in which he gives back to his country, much in the same way people like Carnegie .
Obama came into the Oval Office an unknown with no real accomplishments to his name and have never worked in private industry. He became overwhelmed by the celebrity status and the trappings of the office as well as a media that portrayed him as the new messiah. And he believed them. Obama's two terms were all about him, just listen to his speeches. He spent way too much time pursuing agendas that didn't make sense, hat were outright bad for the country, but he didn't care because it was all about him.

I have every expectation that President Trump will do very good for himself.
-
I think expectations of Trump are much higher than of O.
All O had to do was be black and pop out remarks now and then, and the left swooned over him.
Trump's voters are serious expecters, methinks.
Trouble is, he has to move very quickly and communicate cleanly, or he will be associated with all the division and dysfunction created by O.
-
Trump is a complete amateur, a professional celebrity and little more. He has placed mostly fellow amateurs in key positions around him. I suspect the damage will be limited. While his foreign policy will be a disaster I think the foreign leaders will soon learn to ignore him.

Pathetic.
Just pathetic.

Like they did with Obama? Oh wait, they LAUGHED at him...
For those who have lived in the Ivory tower their entire lives, Trump was a very accomplished real estate and business developer long before he was approached by TV producer Mark Burnett.
-
To a self-righteous, egotistical progressive like Michael, any success not directly from government, or success by anyone not directly 'approved' by the far left is evil.
And everyone who doesn't drink at the toxic well of fascist/marxism is automatically even more evil.
On top of that, anyone that dares dismiss his rantings as simple minded, party line, talking points, is even worse-er.
He seems to feel he is dwelling among inferiors when he deigns to wander in and drop his offal, but the truth is he bares his prejudice, shallow - narrow mind and blindness every time he attacks us.

We won't know how successful until he releases his tax returns. Don't hold your breath.

His tax returns???
ARE YOU seriously going down Steingar's black hole of stupidity and attacking Trump for making money?
I realize he doesn't live off the taxpayers like you two, but he did pretty well for himself, as opposed to sucking from the public teat.

Who's attacking Trump for making money? I'd like to know the financial standing of the President of the United States as well as the extent of his financial ties to foreign governments. Any attacks will be witheld depending on what is revealed, that is if he ever reveals anything.
-
My hope is that Trump and his Dept heads work to change the way D.C. functions by tearing down some bureaucratic walls and remove the red tape. He i snot patient when it comes to moving things forward. It will be interesting to watch.
-

Actually, he is a lot more. He is the leader of a multi-billion dollar company. I know that being a CEO gets poo-pooed by the leftist elites as being an overpaid stuffed shirt, but I think it's because they don't understand the work or the responsibility. It's an enormous amount to do.
I think his foreign policy will be to do what benefits the United States at home. Our foreign policy for the past 15 years has been the failure. Progressives decided that it was possible to stabilize foreign countries by turning them into open democracies, thereby making them "better". They thought that if we transferred enough American wealth and opportunity to the rest of the world then they would stop hating us so much. ::) ::)
I could be really negative about Donald Trump, focus on his lack of government experience, his temperament and try to sabotage every thing that is said about him. But instead, I choose to be hopeful that he will grow into being a good president and that he will do what is best for the country. He will make some mistakes, everyone does because there is no job training for being President...nobody comes into the office prepared to do it.
-

So very odd how you ignore the PROOF of Hilary Clinton's foreign ties while pretending that you are waiting to see about the Donald.
-
It is veyr hard to understand why so many liberals believe that the only people capable of fixing any of our problems are the very people who caused them. It is so devoid of intelligent reason that I am constantly vexed by their blind devotion to partisanship.
What has the democrat party done for ordinary Americans in the last fifty years?
Other than vast punitive, regulation, explosive cost of government and a dramatic reduction in personal liberty, the left has taken and never given back a thing.

So if you're waiting for him to give you information to use to attack him...remind me again why he would?
What you're suggest Mr Trump do is equivalent to asking George Washington to sell Mt Vernon when he was president. It was the president's working farm, the source of his private income. Quit being an ass about this, Donald Trump is not going to sell his ownership in his private company. He isn't required to and he won't. Business is not an emolument...look up the definitions if you are confused. Donald Trump is just as entitled to continue to own The Trump Organization as Hillary is to manage The Clinton Foundation. Quit being a hypocritical bigot.
-
Hypocrisy is all the progressives have left and when a hammer is all you've got, everything has to be nail.
-

How many buildings have the name 'Witmo' on them?

Tax returns don't show net worth or holdings.

George Washington is still the richest president.

I hope you're right.
-

None, your point?

I hope you're right.
I hope I am too because if you're right the country is going to crash and burn. But then the Right has thought we were going to crash for 8 years and we're still here.
Household incomes is one of my personal primary metrics because it gets at the heart of how citizens are doing - it takes corporations and government out of the equation. According to FRED, we are still not back to where we were 8 years ago and that wasn't as high as it was 8 years before that. Now the data is not updated even for 2015 yet and we are on an upward trend, so I'm willing to believe that we're almost back to where we were 8 years ago.
My real complaint is captured in the Household Income v GDP graph attached here. It wasn't Bush and it wasn't Obama but We The People have been left in the cold on GDP growth. My hope is that a business person views economic growth as being more about the blue line and less about the red. I know that Obama's view of growing GDP was more taxes and more government spending and that isn't working for you and me.

You have no evidence of that except his own say so. I've seen estimates of his wealth that are little more than what he inherited from his parents. You don't know any different.

By "amateur" I assume you are referring to political status. Yes, some of them may be political amateurs, but is that a bad thing? Look where professional politicians got us.
But in general, you cannot call most of his appointees "amateurs". They are largely very accomplished professionals in their fields. Just like Obama was a professional agitator; and he proved to be very good at it at the highest level.

IMHO, you should qualify "accomplished professionals". While a number of the President-elects cabinet appointees are solid, I'm still scratching my head at Linda McMahon (maybe the $6.2 million political donation?); Ben Carson and Betsy DeVos.

None, your point?
Like the vast majority of liberals you appear to be displaying typical liberal jealousy. Steingar does it better than you, though.

And you sir, display nothing but name calling as your only contribution to this board. Go for it if it makes you happy but realize it brings nothing to an attempt to have an intelligent discussion.

He actually makes valid points, he just doesn't sugar coat them or play PC.

If a statement addresses aspects of the presenter rather than the presentation, the statement only makes points about the presenter and nothing about the presentation.
"Like the vast majority of liberals you appear to be displaying typical liberal jealousy," is making a point about the presenter and nothing about the presentation. Since the point is a personal opinion founded on zero facts, it proves to be of precisely zero use to anyone except those in a small mutual admiration circle. Basically co-emotional succor.
I've never been political correct and I don't sugar coat either - the above should be just the way you like it, eh?
-
I can't say I like how politically correct the world has become but just to make it clear, you can refuse to be politically correct and still not make yourself out to be an asshole with all the namecalling. I've met a fair number of assholes who are just that and no more.
-

Whatever points he makes he shrouds them with invectives against liberals and others he disagrees with. I confess I tend to tune him out and miss anything of value he might contribute.

I find his rants funny and entertaining. Though I've regarded him as nothing more than a blowhard with bluster, he gives me value. Reading his idiotic invectives give me a chuckle every time.
