With a name like Anthony, my ancestors probably got off the same boat. They came in the 1890's, and were treated like worthless scum also. They did not complain about it.

Nobody should be enslaved, however, as you say they were given food, shelter, medical care, and enough education to do their jobs, and speak English. Again, not saying it was right, but it was the world at that time.
Look at much of Africa today. Would you rather be Black and poor and live there, or here?

The Democrats have been pretending the Constitution doesn't exist for decades. So has the Media and Education. How many times do we hear politicians who are mostly lawyers, and other lawyers, judges, teachers, etc. call our country a "DEMOCRACY"? I think they do it purposely to give the masses a "feeling" that they really have a say in government. LOL!

On the left, there is no credit to be given if you disagree with the talking points. All the candidates sound the same, they all move the same, they all look the same. Joe actually stands a decent chance by being the odd man out.
