The back peddling:

Quote
Update 4:30 p.m.: Senator Johnson’s committee said his comments with Hugh Hewitt earlier on Wednesday were based on a misunderstanding, and that no Republican committee members are currently blocking subpoenas.

“Chairman Johnson is committed to running a thorough investigation into abuses by the Obama administration toward the Trump campaign,” a spokesman for Johnson said in a statement. “Committee members want Chairman Johnson to attempt to get voluntary compliance, and also to be fully prepared for interviews by obtaining necessary documents, before compelling testimony.”

The Media now runs the U.S.  There will be no meaningful investigation of Obama as there will be no Media and therefore no public outcry.

Ron Johnson is my Senator, and while conservative, he plays by the rules too much.

I want to vomit when I hear him on local talk radio, reiterating his frustrations with “the process.”  I want to come through the speaker and grab him by the throat and say “You’re a goddamn Senator. I sent you there to do a job. You are in the majority. Do your fucking job.”

Most of us can’t take listening to him. He bitches about the same things as we do, as if he’s a goddamn back bencher. He’s not. He’s on the starting team, and he needs to act like it.

The democrats pulled impeachment out of their ass in lightening speed. But the Republicans can’t even get Comey under oath?

I swear to God I think the Republicans just enjoy being the minority party. Being in the majority must be too hard for them.

The swamp.

The establishment types in DC are controlled by the swamp.  McConnell is a prime example, so is Graham.   Make no mistake, the current Judiciary hearings on Spygate are nothing more than show.  Graham knows he needs to show his "tough guy" image before November to garner votes.   Once the election is over, hearings will cease and some lame excuses will be issued.

Johnson got backed into a corner by Hewitt (good on Hewitt).  You can bet that will be the last time Johnson will appear on Hewitt's program (Guarantee you McConnell has already told Johnson no more interviews).

Thanks to the apathy of republican voters we have a senate chocked full of establishment career politicians, most of them are only marginally better than the liberals.

The thing is Johnson is only on his second term of a two term self imposed term limit. Wisconsinites will hold him to that pledge.

I guess it doesn’t take long to get romanced but the idea of being called “Senator.”

I'm willing to bet that the "self imposed two term limit" will be brushed aside with "I have so much work to do to bring good things to Wisconsin".

The problem with senators is the 17th amendment.

Before that cluster fuck was passed, senators were decided upon in the state legislatures to go to DC and represent the interest of the state.  Get a shithead in there, and the state legislature could recall the ignorant fuck and replace them.

Now they are elected, 6 year terms no less, and it's interesting to see who contributes to their campaigns.  Hint: Very little from the state they are suppose to represent.

These career fucks, along with voter apathy, is what's turning this country into a 3rd world shithole.
