Are you saying that the story is a joke? Or that the media hype about it is a joke.
I think "groundhog day" is a very good analogy. Another day, another CNN attempt to smear the President even when there is nothing to smear.
I don't know why they do this when there is plenty of material to roast Trump about. But I guess on a slow news day they can take any random act and make fun of it in some context or other.

Stuck going through network broadcast TV this morning. Watched a little of CBS and ABC Sunday morning "news" shows.
The phony over acting is over the top with the host and their guest. Watched George Stephadumbass conversing with the bleach blond hag (the one that started crying on election night, can't remember her name). She was exasperated, sad almost in tears (bad acting) and George was also acting serious as they discussed the "Comey Firing Crisis".
And of course George threw in for good measure ABC polling which shows Trump at some ultra low approval rating.
This shit is comical to watch for anyone who can use reasonable thought.

I just can't watch it, nor do I read the mainstream rags anymore. I used to read the local paper's website (Phila. Inquirer/Daily News) just to see what is going on locally in the region. Every day, there is 2 - 4 anti Trump articles, some are by local communist staff "journalists", others are feeds from Washpo, or AP. Total lies made up to promote their far left, progressive agenda. Today there is no news reporting, nor journalism. They make up a story without facts to fit whatever agenda issue they are promoting that day.

Trump has no ideology other than to fix things that he sees are wrong. A lot of people in the swamp do not want any part of fixing anything.

I wouldn't go that far. I'll agree that he's put a lot of people in good positions (this cabinet is one of the best in a long time, for the most part) and he's done some good things. He is his own worst enemy, though, as evidenced by his tweets and his statements.

Totally agree. He doesn't have the discipline to not respond, nor lash out. His advisors need to reign him in. He sometimes gives the story legs where it may have just died if he left it alone. I do like a lot of the people he has around him. Unlike Obama, he has qualified people from both inside, and outside government. Obama just surrounded himself with lefty activists, academicians, and politicians.

I've pretty much given up on watching any national news source. I watch the local news[1] to keep up with what's going on in town, that's it.
[1] Even then they still throw a Trump bashing story in there a couple times a week.

And only the elites see it as a real problem. The middle class folks in flyover country get a kick out of it. Trump does not play by the rules the rest of the DC insiders play by and he doesn't intend to. Y'all want to think of him as a politician like all the others. He is not that by any means. You need to adjust your thinking.

The worst Presidential candidate in U.S. history won the popular vote because the NYC, and L.A. metro areas vote lock step Democrat. Theses small enclaves control entire states, and regions politically, and it is getting worse. it is almost like mass brainwashing. In the quest for some type of meaning in their lives, they support every social justice cause, no matter how destructive.

Andrew Wilkow suggested a solution to fixing the major metro areas controlling the vote would be to setup electoral colleges at the state level. That wouldn't solve national election issues but it would definitely give a voice to those not inside the major metro areas.

This absolutely hits the nail square on the head. It's very helpful to look at a map of the U.S. and how they voted by county. My sister has been a lifelong Democrat. But this year I'm pretty sure she voted for Trump. I sent Mom a copy of Trump's "Contract with the American Voter" because Mom couldn't decide who to vote for and God knows the local rag wouldn't print it, and she isn't on the Internet. She's 90 years old, mostly conservative, but VERY confused because all her news comes from that leftist rag, and the mostly Democrat old people up at the Senior Center. So anyway my sister and my mom read over Trump's contract and together they worked out how to vote, they didn't come out and say but I'm real sure they both went Trump. My sister told me, "that contract you sent was very helpful."
So anyway back to the map of the U.S. When sis visited me this year, I had that map up as my wallpaper. She saw it and her eyes grew big. Wow! She said, what's that? I explained it. She had never seen it before. This is a person who pays no attention to politics, other than hearing the leftist rants of her group of loony friends. When it sank in how much sheer acreage voted Trump, and the only parts of the country that voted Democrat were big cities and some land bordering Mexico, she "got it". That we cannot let such a tiny portion of the country rule the rest of us.
I'm pretty sure my sister is one of the many Dems who defected to Trump, along with ALL my coal mining extended family in western PA. My grandfather and my uncle were steel workers before the mills shut down, and devout Catholic, and I'm sure all Democrats back in the day. They are very religious people, do you think they were going to vote for Hillary after she defended late term abortion, and her vowing to "destroy coal", when Trump campaigned on bringing back jobs? I foresaw the rust belt swinging Trump, it's not rocket surgery. The Dems/media/Hillary/pollsters had to be pretty self-absorbed and blind to not see that coming.
My mom voted for John Kennedy. All my PA relatives were Dems, and my sister, growing up in a city with liberal friends, remained Democrat til now. But all these people are normal people, and are leaving the Democrat party at the point it is leaving them. It no longer cares for the average working person with its hyper focus on diversified minority groups and saving the planet, all of which is simply a distraction for their real agenda: Power for its own sake.
The sole member of my family who will never switch over is one of my brothers, a rabid angry leftist in whom I've lost all hope. Today, that type is what is driving the left. The normal person, the rest of my family, can be reasoned with and are switching sides, or at least going independent, as they see the Democrats are no longer the party that cares about them.
My thought is that the rabid left does not have anything like the numbers to win with legal means, as more and more ordinary humans see the light and realize how loony they are, and I'm thinking they will soon go to illegal, illegitimate means, even more so than they already are with their lies. It's a small fanatic faction within the Democrat party but small fanatical factions execute coups all the time, then dictate as thugs, and I'm fearing that's coming if we don't hold on to the EC and our rule of law.
