Well, she's got balls, I'll grant her that.

She's 51 now, and still looks incredible. Few times I've heard her speak, it was pretty powerful. She is articulate, and not afraid to go mano-a-mano. Which is going to be useful in the predominantly hispanic(77%) and black district that includes parts of Compton, Watts, and Long Beach. she's running against a chicano democrat. We'll just call it an uphill battle.

I don't know - it will depend on whether or not she can connect with the problems that the people there face.  If she can show them that she understands the area and is ready to represent their needs, then I think she has a good chance.  If she cannot do that then she should not be trying to represent them.

Not saying that the current lady is doing any of that well, but political inertia is a powerful thing.  As is dogmatic loyalty to a political party.  It isn't at all smart, but it is powerful...for the party.
