In a word, yes.

The very exceptionalism and rugged individualism that made America such a great place and a land of opportunity has been under constant assault for decades from nearly every direction, cultural, philosophical, educational, and governmental - we have regulated and PC'd ourselves into a pale imitation of the greatest generation and the current situation in the EU and UK is a grey foreshadowing of our future of managed decline and ever more limited personal liberty, all in exchange for 'the common good'.

It is very depressing and disheartening since we are willingly doing it to ourselves as a people when instead we should raging against the dying of the light.

The funny thing is, right-wing media took one comment out of context and built a slogan of hate around it. 

Again, people hear what they want to hear.  If someone is pre-disposed to hate or oppose someone, they will find every snippet or comment despicable, no matter how distorted they make the message.

My issue with obama goes back to before the 08 election:  "spreading the wealth around a little" and the granddaddy "fundamentally changing the united states of america."  How that didn't result in a landslide for McCain is proof that the media is 100% complicit.

But I get cranky when I hear liberals saying "America" like it is a bad word.
Of course, I use the word "liberal" as a pejorative.

I used to think, naively I guess, that liberal and conservative people just had different life philosophies- you know, tomato-tomahto...  Since Bush II I've become more politically astute, and more recently under the dictator Obama have come to realize this difference is a life and death struggle, quite literally.  Far Lefties, as far as I'm concerned, are a clear and present danger to this nation. The useful idiots in the middle disgust me.

Go back and quote me where I advocated a $15 an hour minimum wage. I dare ya. Read and think. That is the whole point of discussion. If you want to just shout, spout and insult people, call up any of the call in radio shows and have at it.

The actual dollar amount is immaterial.  Raising a minimum wage will result in a cascade of wage and price increases (inflation) and less employment for entry level workers. FACT.
