I checked my bank account this morning and I had a $1,200 deposit. Now I gotta go stimulate something.
Last time I gave half to my laid off brother and half to the food bank. This time I might spread it around to places like the FBO fuel pump and some restaurants. (plus give the food bank another donation).

I don't receive anything from this, but I'm really disappointed in how once again this was handled.
There should have been zero of this money going outside of the US, and there should have been zero of this going for anything that has nothing to do with the effects of the virus on the economy.
And illegals shouldn't receive anything, period. It should have focused on those who lost work or had their work reduced, and it should have went towards businesses that were forced into these lawless shutdowns.

That’s where you are wrong. I was opposed to the whole stimulus fiasco, and felt Trump shouldn’t have signed it. Congress has used the scamdemic to raid the treasury, and Pelosi/McConnell have used the massive Bill trick in order to hide pork while rushing it through.
Trump should have vetoed and let the scumbags over ride it. But I will give him credit in pointing out how our citizens deserved the money over foreign governments and illegals.

We won't get any this time. We got the first one based on 2018 tax return because we filed late, but our 2019 tax return includes $94,000 that was reported as "income" and kicked us over the limit to get any this time.
The $94,000 was the relocation package for the job change. Moving, temporary housing, realtor and closing costs etc., it was a great package but it wasn't cash we got yet it makes our AGI look big.
No matter, we don't need the stimulus money but I wanted to give it all to someone I know who is unemployed due to covid shutdowns and barely hanging on. We gave all the first one to the Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.

Would you really think it is a good idea to borrow money to send $2,000 to millions of people? If a major piece of legislation is up, and something the majority party wants, they have to go to the minority to get votes. And those votes will cost something. The minority leader is the deal broker and the majority has to bring something to the table.

In fact each party names their own leader and the Senate majority leader is just the person whose party in the majority. Since it appears that Senator Bernie Sanders still holds his position in the Senate as an independent (self-described on https://www.sanders.senate.gov/about-bernie/ (https://www.sanders.senate.gov/about-bernie/)) technically the Senate Democrats have only 49 members. To the extent that Senate rules designate powers to the majority leader, that would probably still be Mitch McConnell.

You seem to permanently tied to the fiction that someone needs to be named, investigated, charged, and prosecuted before you can acknowledge that fraud was committed, and that a remedy can be served.
In many cases it was elected or appointed government employees, from politicians, state election boards, local election officials, and even judges, who violated state laws, created new rules (without the legislature) using Covid as an excuse, and changed the voting landscape while disregarding the state legislatures completely. That is unlawful, yet every public safeguard including the USSC has disavowed taking action.
Judges could have disallowed ballots that violated state law. Period. They chose not to, not for legal reasons, but political reasons.
This is why you have 80 million super pissed off people, who saw all of this happening, and who have lost every last venue of recourse. Where else do you go? The frustration shown by the hundreds of thousands of people in DC on Tuesday was valid and understandable.

They did name people. The creators of Dominion. The bureaucrats that changed election law in violation of the constitution. The poll workers that were caught on tape running one stack of votes through the machine six times. The poll count supervisor who told the counters to ignore the ballots where the signatures didn’t match, the poll workers that rudely expelled the partisan watchers. They know all these people did these things but the courts refused to allow the evidence to be placed in front of them, and the FBI/DOJ is in on the fix and won’t investigate them.

I have changed my mind about what to do with my stimulus check.
Now that the people have voted that they want the government to take as much money as they can from the public and redistribute it to those they feel are more needy and worthy, I no longer feel like that I am responsible for helping those people. The government will do it.
Also, now that my state has approved minimum wage increases I no longer feel I need to tip wait staff and others so much. Rather than my typical 20-25%, I will now probably tip closer to 10-15%, and ONLY if they earn it with exceptional service; Except for the line guys and gals. I'll still slip them a fiver when they assist me.

The government is doing that right now. They are using huge corporations to do this for them, such as Google, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. MSM is already doing their part to help out, and several companies that host internet content have joined in. And they are taking their cues from the CCP. Widely known fact that Google, FaceBook, Twitter, Apple, etc, have Chinese nationals with ties to the CCP at the top advising them.
Sitting in congress right now is the Patriot Act V 2.0, about 20,000 pages long. It redefines "domestic terrorism" for instance, which makes such items as peaceful assembly a crime if they (DCP) don't approve of the content. The rest of that bill is quite astounding in the ways they want to circumvent the constitution.

A socialist (or any other power seeker) who does not yet have access to government power will employ whatever means of power are at their disposal. When they use private enterprises to exercise that power that is vastly more manageable than when they use the threat of deadly force granted to government. We get to complain when the private enterprises do that and plot and plan counter measures. That is what is happening here and elsewhere.
Obviously threats come from all quarters - so when private enterprises start using force to exercise power then the only counter response left is either government force or private force, depending on circumstances. That is not yet the case so far as I know.

I think we are moving faster towards a form of socialism more-so than communism. But neither has ever proved to be a viable system.
From each according to their ability, to each according to there needs is a stated goal of both Socialists and today's Democrats.

The government is doing that right now. They are using huge corporations to do this for them, such as Google, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. MSM is already doing their part to help out, and several companies that host internet content have joined in. And they are taking their cues from the CCP. Widely known fact that Google, FaceBook, Twitter, Apple, etc, have Chinese nationals with ties to the CCP at the top advising them.
Sitting in congress right now is the Patriot Act V 2.0, about 20,000 pages long. It redefines "domestic terrorism" for instance, which makes such items as peaceful assembly a crime if they (DCP) don't approve of the content. The rest of that bill is quite astounding in the ways they want to circumvent the constitution.

1800. Materials will be right around that price, and I can do most of it myself. Small bathroom, 36x36 shower, not replacing toilet. This will be my 3rd bathroom remodel.
