I mean, why does existence exist?
But is it meaningful to ask “why” since that presumes the answer can be provided as a causal sequence, but causal sequences imply temporal order. But time is itself a part of existence and so cannot be part of the answer. It’s all so frustrating to grapple with these profound questions about reality. If Clinton had been elected we’d have an answer by now.

My husband is reading a book called “The Consciousness Instinct.” I’m waiting for him to share insights that may apply. But as to your statement that time can’t be part of the answer because it’s part of existence, why? The question “why” is part of existence, too, as would be order and sequences. Only what is outside existence would be irrelevant, no?
For me, Hillary Clinton is delightfully outside existence and completely irrelevant.
