Title: RUSH, Where are you?
Post by: Little Joe on June 18, 2020, 04:42:33 AM
Are you ok?  Have you left the forum?  Did Anthony scare you off?

Does anyone know why Rush isn't posting and why she said "NO, I'm not back"?  I"m worried about her?

Yes, that's it!  My Far Right views or list of ex wives must have done it again!  That's why everyone leaves!

Sorry Rush!!!      ;D

I view your tales of exes like I do looking at a gruesome accident as I pass by on the interstate. Interesting and shocking at the same time...

Isn't she just trying to stay away from this stuff because it was affecting her?

People come and go here for a variety of reasons.  There is no expectations made of anyone, it's a free and open forum.

I realize we keep hearing the same old tired "________ got run off" from the forum, but in reality no one has ever been asked to leave or "run off".

Post if you like, or not.  We love our freedom here.

I view the tales of his exes with envy, except for the financial hit.

I agree completely with that.  But that doesn't mean I shouldn't miss someone like Rush when she leaves.

I know that no one was ever asked to leave, but the name calling and personal attacks do indeed run many people off.

Many people choose NOT to post here because of the aforementioned issues.

People typically leave when they can't defend a position they've stated.  They spout off some bullshit, then when confronted they start playing the victim.  And some ultimately leave for the safety of another forum with liberal moderation and protection.

Many people choose NOT to post here because of the aforementioned issues.

 Strictly your opinion.

 Strictly your opinion.
Definitely my opinion, but not strictly mine.  Many people have voiced the same opinion.  If I didn't agree with 90% of what the echo chamber here believes, I would leave too.  But on the few times I do disagree, I feel the same kind of heat a black person feels from the left when they leave the plantation.

Part of the disagreement may be the perception that name calling and personal attacks is an excuse for people that are unable or unwilling to defend their statements/claims with things like facts.

There's a liberal echo chamber on another forum, where the liberal owner/moderator has one rule "play nice".  Of course, it's up to him to determine what that means, which typical results in moderating conservative thought.

Again, this is an unmoderated forum, for a reason.   "Sub moderation" is not going to be introduced here so a select few can be protected.  I've even started threads for liberals to post anything they want, and requested that they not be challenged or anyone to post anything negative about what was posted.  No confrontation whatsoever, just post away freely.

Yet no one ever took me up on it.

Bottom line, unless the liberal/progressive ideology is allowed to run a forum, with their brand of power and control, they are not interested.  Period.

I guarantee you if we started moderation, and made this forum protect liberal/progressive ideology and punish anyone who makes a conservative position you would see a lot of interest and increased membership participation.

That may be part of it, but it is a very small part.  For instance, it is obvious that Lucifer does a lot of research and can back up his opinions.  I am good with that; in fact I really like that.  But the name calling, of which Lucifer isn't the worst, is still uncalled for and unnecessarily antagonistic.

Well, there I go again.

I seem to recall that she was off to parts unknown with limited Internet availability.  Some sort of trip that is unrelated to what's happening on the Forum.  It was just a quick statement with the implication that she'd be back when the event was over.  At least that's what I remember.

--- Edit: Nope.  I misremembered.  Never mind.

I do remember when you were quite upset when I once said that Rush and Becky could stay, but the rest of you could fuck off. Everyone took it for the humor that it was except you.

I'm not going to make any apologies, but I was going through a pretty bad situation at the time and my sense of humor was probably taking a leave of absence.  But it does go to show how words can hurt.  And a lot of people on this board have no problem using words to hurt anyone they don't agree with.  You don't have to be a liberal snowflake to think that people should be nice to each other.

Actually, I don't believe that is accurate.  I have honestly come to the conclusion that my life really doesn't matter, and I will probably be relieved when it is over.  I just wish human doctors could perform euthanasia like veterinarians do.

This medium is flawed, like email, text and other non verbal, non person to person communication.  It sucks for conveying humor, and other emotions sometimes.  Often people take things the wrong way just because it is that flawed.  However, I can pretty much guarantee that EVERYONE here has nothing but positives thoughts, respect and admiration about you and most others that participate

As I’m sure you know, suicide among veterinarians is 3.5 times higher than the general population. It’s a huge issue, but sadly is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

I though Joe's wife was a Vet.  He is as well?

My Dad was a Dentist.  Right up there with suicide rates.  Who likes to go to the Dentist?  (I do, but I am weird).  Why are Vet rates high?  Sadness having to put down Rover and Fluffy all the time???

Nah, thanks but I"m ok.  Its not that I want to die; I'm just that I'm not afraid of it.  That's probably mentally healthier than being afraid.  But while I'm not afraid of being dead, I am sort of afraid of going through a long painful process to get there.

The process that people trusted in the past is broken.  The MEDIA wants us to think all of Society is broken.  Why?  Fundamental Transformation, and MASSIVE redistribution?  Reparations for Blacks, LGBT, Women (maybe) then the Green New Deal redistribution.

If Biden wins, a contingent of republicans (I won't say all, neither will I say all democrats) will claim election fraud, etc.

The media in this country can't be trusted.  Neither can those who control the voting.  So now all elections will be met with distrust.  And this is by design.

In progressive ideology, those institutions that have failed must be replaced with a newer version that will be promised to work. Voters are becoming even more skeptical of voting, which hastens the process of replacing it.

They can claim anything they want, but I don't see Republicans rioting and I don't see the MEDIA supporting and creating the required public outcry like we have for all this Racist nonsense and the Virus response.

So, some Republicans will just SAY they don't accept the election results.  The MEDIA will either ignore them, or demonize them and they will be irrelevant.  So what?

Yes it does.  The MEDIA and Democrats used it for the VIRUS.  If they do move to confiscate firearms that's when you will see widespread civil disobedience and probably armed resistance and violence.

Vet rates are high, I believe, because they deal with a lot of death, including euthanasia.  They are by their nature unbelievably compassionate and caring people who aren’t in it for the money, and when they fail, or if their clients can’t pay for services, the animals suffer or die or are put down.

My daughter does small animal surgery one day a week, but otherwise she’s a large animal (mostly dairy) vet.  Some farmers can’t afford surgery to save the animal, so my daughter has to tell them to sell the cow, or if there is no medicines in its system, then kill it and butcher it. If they don’t want to shoot it, she has a tool called a captive bolt, which is basically a gun with a .22 blank round that shoots a rod about 4-6” out the front. She has to put it up to the skull of a bovine in a certain spot and it puts a hole in their skull which stuns it. Then she takes a long screw driver and scrambled to brain to humanly kill it. That is better than using what she calls “blue juice,” which is a euthanasia drug that she would inject straight into the heart. If they have to do that, then the farmer Is legally required to bury the cow a minimum of 6’ deep, because any animal like a coyote that digs it up and eats it will die.

95+% of her dairy clients are good and compassionate dairymen, who treat their cows well and take losses personally. The other minority who are not humane keep her up at night with worry when she leaves their farm after an emergency call.

Not all calvings go well. Sometimes the calf is dead inside the mother before she gets there. If it is not moving and for some reason she can’t do a C section (maybe the farmer doesn’t want to pay for a C section for a dead calf), she has a tool that she can insert so she can saw the calf apart inside the cow so she can get it out in pieces.

There are so many highs and lows for them. So when they have a high, like this successful C section, we celebrate with her. She has a good head on her shoulders, but we always worry.

Thanks Stan.  Interesting but some SAD stuff too.  I guess she must try to dwell on the large amount of positives and suppress the negatives, but that comes with a price too.
