Title: Carbon Tax

Quote
Coons’s bill with Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the Climate Action Rebate Act of 2019, would start greenhouse gas fees at $15 per metric ton of carbon and gradually increase the fee over time.

It estimates the tax would bring in $12 billion in revenue, which would then be distributed in part as a rebate to low income families. A portion also would be used to invest in clean energy. The bill aims to reduce U.S. carbon emissions 55 percent by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

So, exactly what is that "increase the fee over time"?

And notice the next paragraph: "which would then be distributed in part as a rebate to low income families".    How in the hell does this combat supposed climate change??

Well, poor people eat a lot of beans because they are health and cheap.  Just reducing their bean consumption would reduce GHGs.

Actually, this would increase green house gas emissions.  Poor people don't fuel their airplanes with leaded gas or spend as much time running their fishing boats and they drive around more so they can shop.

But we all know that reducing GHGs aren't really the goal, is it.  Redistributing wealth is the goal.

The quote "which would then be distributed in part as a rebate to low income families" sums it all up.    What a scam.

We've been saying this all along.  The Left's "fixes" for climate change are all about more income and wealth redistribution as a slush fund to buy more votes.  This is what we will get the second there is another Democrat President that would sign such a destructive bill.  And guess what?  Many Republicans will be on board with it, as they want larger, more intrusive government also.

How exactly will a "Carbon Tax" that will escalate each year help the environment?  All it will do is slow the economy, create huge unemployment and more dependency on government.  And that is what the Left wants.

Yep.

It will raise the prices of things produced domestically and give foreign factories an advantage.
And domestic industries will just pass that cost on to their customers.

Nothing about it reduces overall pollution.  It just moves it around and drags down our economy.  But it buys votes, and that is all any real politician is interested in.  Thank God Trump is not a "real politician".

He's older than I am.  He's not going to change.  If anything, it will just piss him off more and make his twitter feeds even more (pick your adjective).
