Wow. I know God is scary to you, but I'd rather have that list in my corner than the list that Trump has in his corner, including David Duke, Louis Farrakhan, Sarah Palin, Equadorian President Rafael Correa (because Trump "would be such an embarrassment to the U.S. that Latin America's progressive movement would benefit"), as well as the rest of the cast of characters from the Star Wars bar scene.

I personally find the article repulsive, which is normal for anything coming from the Daily Beast.
The self-righteous venom dripping from the author's every word was truly disgusting, simply because the General does not hold and parrot the 'approved' position on Gay Rights or Radical Islam.
There are lots of reason to not support Cruz, and for me one is the particular way in which he wears/proclaims his faith (comes off as not genuine to me), but I respect the General and agree with his stated position on essentially all fronts. I'd prefer he support another candidate but the Daily Beast hit-piece was atrocious.
As for comparing Lucifer's anti-Cruz campaign to JeffDG's anti-Trump jihad, well Lucifer has a long ways to go to play catch-up on the pedant-o-meter IMO.
I'd still prefer more focus on why we should vote 'for' somebody, from everybody.

That's because all Lucifer has is one line about "bible salesman", while I have multiple, and ever growing lines of attack against Trump.

Cruz is hiding his true religion, which is Pentecostal. One can only summerize this is for political gain as he doesn't want the same stigma attached to him that Romney had with being a Morman. Of course this doesn't say much for the devout Christian he proclaims to be.
Cruz is a phony on many fronts, and will stop at nothing to get the nomination, even if it means dirty campaign tricks or outright lying. So Christian of him.
The next few days will tell the tale of who will come out on front. Right now it's down to two, but come convention time it will probably get ugly.

My problem with Trump is that he says it will be amazing, and wonderful, and that he will make America great again, but gives not details on how he will make it happen.

He has given details on a variety of issues, it just takes time doing some research and not depending on the sound bites for information.

It seems to me that the downfall of this country will not come from the religious, but from the rabid adherents of the freedom FROM religion crowd. These people will rather put someone into office who thinks THEY are God, as opposed to someone who prays to God for forgiveness.

I believe he is a realist. Last Tuesday Rush Limbaugh did a segment where he discussed having a lunch with Cruz 2 or 3 years ago. During the lunch Cruz laid out his plan for how to win the White House by attracting far right conservatives and evangelicals as his base. He felt if the evangelicals came out in force it would give enough votes to win.
That's been exactly his plan and its failed. Evangelicals are not giving him enough support, he still has many in the GOP alienated and his plan never figured on a Trump to get in the race.
And Cruz still clings to his original plan. Cruz does not appeal to blue collar democrats (Reagan Democrats) and moderates, and without those he cannot get nominated much less elected.
