Title: Joe and the what?
Post by: President-Elect Bob Noel on August 14, 2020, 05:57:28 PM
https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-bubble-photographer-offensive-kamala-harris-joe-biden-meme-182540581.html

"A photographer working in the NBA bubble at Disney World was let go by the league after he posted an offensive meme about Kamala Harris, the newly announced Democratic candidate for vice president."

I wonder how many vulgar memes about President Trump have been posted by other people working with the NBA.  I'm sure those people have also been disciplined.

Disney is about as Far Left as it gets, having Jewish Bolshevik CEO's now for decades.  That's not anti Semitic, that's a fact.  Michael Eisner, Robert Igor and now Bob Chapek.  All Far left, Marxist and big Democrat supporters.  It is ironic because Disney used to produce family oriented programming and movies with American values.  Now it is all PC. Woke, agenda derive, leftist SJW CRAP.  I hate Disney and ESPN.

Due to this and lack of sports (and the fact that sports is now also PC, woke, agenda drivien), I've cancelled Hulu. I now have no TV other than that the antenna can pull in. Done.

I have Amazon Prime, but I am going to cancel that also and just have HD antenna TV.  Hulu, Netflix, Amazon are all Leftist activists.

If you have a smart TV, or a firestick, use https://ustvgo.tv/ or https://ustv247.tv.

I can watch Tucker and Laura on Foxnews, or any of the discovery shows (discovery, science), History, food network, HBO, Cinemax, etc.

You will need the Nord VPN to watch premium content, bit otherwise no cost.     Nord VPN can be bought cheap.

This is what I have, so I don't think it is a "Smart TV".

But it does have this.

So i would have to get a fire stick and then transmit the streaming from my computer using the fire stick?  Is that how a fire stick works?  I need to learn more about this stuff.  I've been watching streaming on my laptop, but I'd prefer to watch it on my TV as it is much larger.

I watch a lot of stuff on my PC and I actually like it better because I sit closer and I can usually stop and rewind if I need to.

But I also like to stream it to the big TV because sometimes (just sometimes), I like to watch it with my wife, or with company and a computer is inconvenient for that.

I don't think the TV I have can pick up my WiFi signal so I don't think it is a Smart TV.  So to do that I think I have to get a Fire Stick.  I live alone, so rarely watch anything with someone else so the laptop has been fine.

Get a 4K Firestick from Amazon.  Should be able to get one on sale.  Plug into the back of your TV.   Once it loads and you get it set up (very easy), open the web browser (Silk) and put the web address in.   That's it.

For the Nord VPN, you will need to download the app from Amazon on the firestick, then get a subscription.   Again, very easy.

I also use the Mobdro app on my firestick, which allows me to watch TV from other countries. Lately I've been watching British and Australian TV programs.

Final not on Firestick.  Get the 4K version that has the volume control on it, this way you only need one remote.

Thanks.  I'm going to do exactly that.

I forgot to add, those websites I listed also carry OAN (One America Network) news as well.    Worth it just for that IMO.

That's great.  I assume this is sufficient, but it has that spy device, Alexa, which I guess I could disable somehow.

A few drops of superglue in the right spot might disable the mic

Yes, in the settings you can disable it

Get this one, a bit better performance IMO

That is a concern for sure.  There have been reports where these things keep working even when "disabled", and I do NOT trust Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Apple, nor the rest of the Tech community and Amazon is a Tech company first.  I will cover the Mic with something, maybe electrical tape over super glue as you suggest.

Easy.  Just ask Alexa.

I’m about to buy a smartTV. (Moving up from 40” to 65”.).

I’m about to shit can DirectTV. Service has fallen to incompetent level and costs have doubled since AT&T bought them a couple years ago, so I’m looking for options.

Would I need a fire stick with a smart TV, or is it probably covered by the TV itself?

Nope, no need for a firestick, your new TV will hook directly to the internet, and should support a web browser as well.

Not sure about how you would set up apps such as Mobdro, you'll have to ask the salesman.

There is a ton of content out there, for free.  The two websites I posted have 80% of the programing I normally watch.  Very little if any buffering.  I have noticed that Motor Trend tends to buffet, but I think it's the upload to the server.   OAN, Foxnews, Discovery, History and Science come in cable quality.

And don't forget YouTube.    Youtube runs extremely well, and has hours of content.  I'm a fan of westerns from the 40's through the 60's, and they have all the full length movies.   Old war movies too.   I found hour after hour of historical NASA films.   If you like old TV shows, they are there as well.

I dumped cable a couple of years ago.  My expense now is my internet provider, and I subscribe to Nord VPN, that's it.
