We're gonna miss you Neil.

That says it all.

Best Rock drummer of tall time. Had the privilege of seeing Rush several times. The energy and talent of all of them was incredible, but Neil was on a level all by himself.
Huge amount of respect for his talent, and the way he handled himself through unbelievable tragedy in his personal life.

He is up there with the best of the best, that's for sure.

I'm a casual fan of the band, but didn't know of P-ear-t's (I wish the suddenly fawning YouTubers would learn to pronounce the man's name correctly before going online and tearing their garments in their eulogies) writings.
I have a number of new books to read.

Why didn’t RUSH post this ;)
Been listening to the new (temporary) Rush tribute channel on Sirius. I saw Rush once in the 80s, once in the 90s and on the last tour (the R40 tour). Every time, they were so amazing. I have always liked Rush, though it’s not like much of the other music I like. All three of them are musicians of the highest caliber. And Neil Peart was the best drummer in the world. I doubt we will ever see anyone of his caliber again. Though the Dave Matthews drummer, Carter Beauford, is pretty damn close.
And I recently saw an interview of Alex and Geddy, and Geddy said Neil’s last name was pronounced “P” “ear” t. Like the word “ear” with a’p’ at the front and a ‘t’ at the end.

And I want to read Neil’s books now, too. Shame it took his death for me to decide I should do that.

I learned a lot about the power of a crowd while being pushed around the floor area.

Yeah, just ask The Who (the two that are still alive anyway). I went to the concert just after the one the people died from the crowd surge.

Why didn’t RUSH post this ;)
Ha! I like Rush, always have. But there's a history there involving an erstwhile ex-boyfriend so I didn't want to comment in this thread and open old wounds. And in case anyone is curious, the band is not where my nickname comes from, and neither is Limbaugh. Nor is it drug rush. Nor being in a hurry. It's from "adrenalin rush", from hobbies like flying airplanes or skydiving and whatnot.

Re: source of username–Cool!! :bravo:
Sorry about the issue with the band and the ex. :(
