Spin Zone / Unions = equality? really?
« on: February 04, 2020, 05:51:59 AM »

Wellesley College has hired a non-union contractor for a building.

Apparently some people equate that with being against women in construction

Be prepared to be awash in pc buzzwords.

Spin Zone / Best and Worst Superbowl ads

Anyone have thoughts?

None of them were particularly good.  However, I did like the groundhog day ad using Bill Murray.

Bloomberg's ad was, of course, crap (no surprise)

Spin Zone / Wouldn't this be hilarious

Let's imagine President Trump is removed from office (for a moment let's put aside the complete BS of the house impeachment "trial").

Donald Trump runs for President in Nov 2020 and wins.

Imagine the spectacle of liberal heads exploding all over the US.

Compare/Contrast how the clinton impeachment articles were provided to the Senate with how the democrats delivered the President Trump impeachment articles:

Go ahead, defend pelosi and the rest of those despicable oxygen thieves.  (too subtle?)

Cambridge MA city council recently banned Government use of facial recognition technology.

How wonderful for you Cambridge.

idle thought:  I guess that means government workers can't use the face id functionality on their iphones...

In today's paper I saw a Tribune News Service article about a new perk some companies are offering:  paid time off when adopting a pet, albeit a one-time perk.

I love pets, especially dogs, but words fail me...

Spin Zone / Impeachment will help dem presidential candidates
« on: January 13, 2020, 06:04:24 AM »
Consider this:  The longer the impeachment trial takes, the less time the clowns will be out campaigning.  Which means there is less time for those intellectual giants to suffer from foot-in-mouth disease.  Less time for those geniuses to spew their MORE TAXES garbage.

(too biased?)

"The admission by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard undermined the credibility of information provided by senior officials.."

That's quite the understatement.

Spin Zone / win or lose, who runs in 2024?

Regardless of whether or not Donald Trump wins the 2020 election, who do the Republicans run in 2024?

Spin Zone / Real ID - compare with voter ID
« on: January 03, 2020, 12:10:11 PM »
For kicks and giggles (not really, but I think some might get the point), compare and contrast the documentation requirements for a Real ID and any attempts at voter ID.

Spin Zone / Why can't people acknowledge self-defense?
« on: December 29, 2019, 06:31:05 PM »
Reading most of the articles about the shooting at a Texas church, you see statements early in the article that parishioners shot and killed a gunman.  Buried in the article you'll eventually be able to see that the gunman was shot in self-defense.

It's always "store owners kills so-and-so" (when the store owner is protecting himself and other customers).  And similar type of headlines.

It's as if "journalists" have an extreme adversion to admitting that people can legitimately defend themselves using firearms.

Spin Zone / President Trump could be the greatest President?
« on: December 24, 2019, 07:43:09 PM »
really?

Sure, President Trump really exposes the hatred festering in liberals/democrats.  But is that really a quality essential for the greatest President?

President Trump is indeed acting on many of his campaign promises.  But that is not necessarily a good thing (remember obama promises wrt screwing up health insurance and having zero impact on health care?)

What are the qualities that would make a President the greatest?

Wouldn't the ability to work with "the other side" be essential or at least valuable?

Spin Zone / Ignorance of history
« on: December 24, 2019, 11:57:22 AM »
22 Dec 2019 Boston Globe

Headline:  "Professor on Hitler video parody controversy: 'I was crushed'"

"The UMass Amherst professor who was puffed froma teaching an accounting class last month after a student parody video involving Adolf Hilter was shown in the class..."

"...video included the dialogue: '...or I'll send you to a chamber, and it won't be the chamber of commerce.  I can guarantee that.'  Nazis used gas chambers to kill millions of Jewish people during World War II" (Italics mine)

Never mind snowflake(s) being offended by the parody, but the Danny McDonald (guy who wrote the article) had to add "Nazis used gas chambers to kill millions of Jewish people during World War II"?   Are people really that ignorant?  Now I wonder if Danny McDonald didn't know that millions of Jews died in gas chambers...

Democrats overwhelming approved a trade deal pushed by President Trump, 385-41.

Apparently, not everything President Trump touches is automatically hated by the democrats.
