Since when is it "criminally liable" for a President to fire a member of his staff? This pegs the absurd needle off the scale.

“You cannot charge a president with obstruction of justice for exercising his constitutional power to fire Comey and his constitutional authority to tell the Justice Department who to investigate, who not to investigate,” Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz said last year.
I would hardly call Dershowitz a Trump supporter, but Dershowitz does know the law, unlike many of the BO sycophants who want to use the powers of government to punish political rivals.

The new left has taken the position that the law no longer applies. Look at their handling of Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama.

It just once again shows how out of control and weaponized the government has become.
The FISA abuse scandal, the FBI and DoJ abuse scandal, the Clinton email scandal and the Clinton campaign Russian collusion scandal all have CLEAR evidence that any grand jury would indict over. Yet we have a milquetoast AG Sessions who is concerned for his fellow swamp dwellers more than the public he represents and keeps trying to look in the other direction and pretend the evidence really isn't there.
McCabe will retire shortly to a nice pension and benefits provided by the taxpayer, the same taxpayers he has committed crimes against. No doubt he will go on the speaking circuit and also land a book deal. Rewards for a man that has committed crimes and he will never face charges.
Comey will become wealthy as well after his crimes which will never see prosecution. Rosenstein will benefit as well. And don't forget the other FBI officials that have conspired, committed fraud and perjury, they will just fade into history while collecting their rewards.
And the Clintons and their sychophants? Well, these laws just don't apply to them either.
It's all truly sickening to watch.

I can answer that. Trump is not a politician by nature, he's a businessman. When Trump started his presidential campaign he was immediately alienated by the establishment and shunned.
Sessions is a seasoned politician and proud member of the swamp. He knows (and knew) what was going on in the background. He saw an opportunity to befriend Trump and align himself to a cabinet position. The swamp also realized it would be handy to have one of their own in the inner circle. So he backed Trump, befriended him and got his AG appointment. At this point Trump had not learned "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog".
So far that has worked well for the swamp, because (a) Sessions can't be fired. If Trump tries to remove him the swamp will circle the wagons and start impeachment. (b) Sessions is letting Rosenstein run the DoJ and more importantly, the Mueller Investigation. Sessions quickly recused himself thus allowing Rosenstein full control. Rosenstein is up to his eyeballs in these scandals, so who better to oversee the investigation?
All Sessions has to do is give a few "tough talks" about "getting to the bottom of this". His letting the IG investigate is total bullshit and he knows it, the IG doesn't have the power to convene a grand jury and seek indictments. Sessions has the authority to appoint a Special Prosecutor and go after these people. A huge amount of evidence has already been gathered and even Mueller, under law, would have to cooperate with the Special Council in evidence sharing.
I've said this before, we are witnessing probably the biggest government scandal of our lifetimes, a scandal that could bring down the top of the DoJ and the FBI and could finally see the Clinton's answer to many of their crimes. It would also envelop the Clinton inner circle and the DNC as well.

As much as I like Trey Gowdy, the sad fact is there will never be a Special Counsel appointed to investigate these crimes and abuse.

It is so fucking sad to see Mueller doing everything possible to ignore the evidence of collusion with Russians because it was only fucking democrats doing it.
