So the "rich" top 5 %  paid 57% of all federal income tax and Hillary is going to tax them more.  What a loser, she avoids taxes with her foundation.

Serious question - how many more of the false narrative black lies matter storylines need to be shown to be demonstrably false and racially (hate whitey) motivated before they stop being a thing?

Not one of these in recent memory has turned out to be, factually, anything like what they were represented to be - when will the black community at-large come to their senses and see how these frauds are damaging the cause and actually pause before jumping to conclusions and spinning up the riot/looting/cop shooting apparatus?

I keep harping on this but the Media, Education, and Government is willingly indoctrinating us to be Progressive, anti American, and docile to government.  Look at many Millennial males.  What do you see?

Someone who needs to let their balls loose and stop wearing their girlfriends skinny jeans.

Since liberals don't think honest citizens can be trusted to own firearms, presumably because we are all so violent, how about we just medicate the masses instead in order to reduce the violence?
[/sarcasm]

There was another shooting in Houston today.  Details are scarce which tells me that someone doesn't want us to know anything about the culprit.  I wonder why that could be.

Why medicate when you can indoctrinate in the public school system?

The strangest thing is I always hear about LEOs saying they fear for their lives and how their job is so dangerous.  Don't get me wrong, I think being an LEO is a crap job and they deserve lots of respect.  But being an LEO is not the most dangerous professions, indeed a long way from it.  More dangerous to be a longer, a roofer, and yes even a pilot.

Trees don't go out of their ways to kill loggers.  Roofs don't decide one day to kill roofers and airplanes don't wake up in the morning deciding to go get a pilot because they don't like them.  While there are jobs that can kill more of their practitioners then being a cop, none of them have sentient beings deciding to kill the practitioners.

The odds of my home being victim to some sort of armed incursion are laughably small.  And I am not sufficiently stupid to risk my life defending insured property.

It's not the odds, it's the stakes. And it's less about defending insured property than defending your life.  Just a few blocks from my mother's house someone entered the home of an elderly lady and killed her, then took her property. I can list many other stories close to me,  including the young pregnant wife of my coworker, kidnapped, forced to get money from the ATM, then killed and her body dumped over a bridge into a river.  THAT funeral was a heartbreaker. By the way, she was white, they were black, but that doesn't make me hate all blacks or go riot in the streets. It does alert me to the level of hatred from SOME blacks toward whites, but I don't discriminate; I'm equally alert to white threats. My brother was approached alone in a dark parking lot by men (white) who began to flank him with obvious ill intent. He let the breeze blow open his jacket to reveal his pistol, and they stopped, backed off and left.  So you don't even need to USE a gun for it to save you. You don't even need to show it, hell, you don't even need to own one for gun rights to be protecting you. In areas where gun carry is legal your chance of being a victim is greatly reduced.  You're welcome.

I can't tell you the exact odds of my ever needing a gun, but it's simple and easy enough insurance to have. If it ever happens, I am ready, and I will live to enjoy my grandchildren.

Spin Zone / Re: Reactions to Louisiana Flooding Crisis
« on: September 23, 2016, 07:02:03 PM »
He wasn't criticized by me.  But before Katrina he treated FEMA like a bad entitlement program, and then found his administration unprepared to deal with the aftermath of Katrina.  Perhaps even a FEMA at its best could have done little with a disaster of that proportion.  The real damning thing was he was supposed to be the POTUS who would deal with terrorism, yet his administration couldn't cope with a well tracked and utterly forecast natural phenomenon.  Made them appear utterly incapable of dealing with the chaotic onset of terrorism.

Seems to me that the current floods are a disaster of similar magnitude, and like I said I'm not seeing a lot about how bad the federal response is.  You might all claim the media is keeping it quiet, but I doubt it.  Everyone likes a story about government ineptitude, no matter who's in charge.

The incompetent DEMOCRAT mayor and governor screwed the pooch long before FEMA got involved.

Soak the rich.
Penalize the achievers.
Demonize the job creators.

So far, I've never gotten a job from a poor person.

And if you're a farmer with lots of land and equipment but very little cash, what will your children do?  Sell everything to a mega corp to pay the taxes?

I listened to that entire speech. Donald Trump was talking about ideological profiling and he went on to make that very plain. He was talking about finding out whether a refugee or would-immigrant had any signs of extremist leanings, any history or evidence of association with known terrorist organizations or sympathies with their cause.  He made this VERY plain. To say he was advocating profiling based on race is an outright lie.

Spin Zone / Re: Why Campaign?
« on: September 20, 2016, 01:43:31 PM »
What few plans the Donald has laid out area as unrealistic as they are expensive.  If he realizes any of them the deficit will expand even more rapidly than it is now.  I give Hillary this much, after being in government as long as she has she understands the possible.

On the other hand you guys would probably love a Trump administration.  Lots more gridlock, because the only folks who hate Trump worse than the Democrats are the Republicans.  Like you guys like to say, the government that governs least governs best.  You'll get lots of that in a Trump administration.

And it'd be fun to watch.

I don't know what's worse: the thought that the Hillary campaign cares enough about out little corner of the Internet that they'd put someone like you on their "Ministry of Love" payroll to spout her propaganda; or the thought that you'd prostitute yourself in that way for free.

If someone who opposes homosexuality for religious reasons or based on the ick factor defends their rights due to the higher calling of liberty and inclusivity they'd have my respect.  Easier to support something because you like it.  Harder to support something because, even though you don't like it, there are higher principles involved.  Sorry you don't see it that way.

Yes, you missed, actually, several points.

"Opposing homosexuality" is silly.  There are homosexuals.  Most thinking people would simply conclude that to live together happily we need to exhibit tolerance.  Thus, when the baker or florist politely decline, the couple goes elsewhere, thus exhibiting the tolerance they wish to receive.  The "higher principle," as you say!

Unfortunately, you and others who think like you see the higher principle to be not true tolerance, but slamming laws down on everyone that justify the few.  Not a recipe for the success of civilization.  Witness the fallout rampant from the recent bathroom laws. And so much more.

You'd like to believe that anyone who is troubled by these laws is stupid or hateful, or unaware of the larger, principled view.  That's just not true, and I would hope you have paid enough attention during this election cycle to notice that when the Democratic candidate spews this misguided venom, you would see for yourself what is really going on.

Hey, it doesn't bother me, but it does bother a LOT OF PEOPLE that can have a negative effect on our 2A rights.  What does carrying an AR into Walmart accomplish?  Is it needed for self defense?  I would argue my concealed 9MM is more effective, as a shooter doesn't know I have it, and won't target me first.  A guy with an AR will be their first target.

Yes, the LEFT has won in many respects.  Carrying an AR into Walmart won't help roll back their wins.
Again, this sounds like an educational issue. The NRA (and other groups) needs to be informing and educating people. Instead we are telling people to not open carry for fear it may upset someone.

I'm not saying I would carry a rifle into Walmart, but if it's legal and isn't against Walmart policy, then who cares? The flip side to that is he has to accept the risk that he's making himself a bigger target.
