Spin Zone / Re: Tuition Free College........

My son did first year at the local community college, then on to a well-regarded state university for the remainder.  Graduated BS Business 2008 after 4 years total (none of this 5 year crap). We paid about 2/3 of the yearly nut out of cash flow, he worked part time and on vacations for probably a bit over minimum wage to pay his share. Total for the degree was under 50K. Got  a job right out of school, living on his own the day after graduation. He's now in his 2nd house, married, self-supporting.

No loans. No "aid"- we're too "rich" and besides there was NO WAY I was going to expose my finances visa FAFSA. We made it clear that he had to contribute and after 4 years we weren't going to pay. It's called motivation.

.  Clinton looked directly into the camera and suggested the millions she's extracted from Wall Street have had absolutely no impact on behavior, and now she wants to go after Bankers and Wall Street execs.   The idiot will have to face those comments in the general election.... I can't wait!

No she won't. The Liberal Press controls the questions, just like they did with Obama.

Agreed. They're fine with some technocrat telling them what they can, or have to do cradle to grave.

Scary as hell.

(don't take this the wrong way)  Trump couldn't do worse than obama or the bitch when it comes to handling the Chinese.

If I have to hear that screeching harpy's voice on TV every night for at least the next four years I'm going to dump battery acid into my ears.

I'm more offended by the term "fair share."

Spin Zone / Re: Socialism Explained
« on: February 02, 2016, 05:41:08 PM »
This simplistic view seems to imply that if you just have a job and work, that you will be guaranteed good healthcare and great retirement. That is utter bull crap. Tens of millions of Americans have jobs, work 40-60 hour weeks and have little to no healthcare and no hope of retirement. What you meant was-

This is why the Democrats have enjoyed so much support since the times of FDR. There are tens of millions of Americans that will never have this better than average job that allows them healthcare and retirement. The very tenants of Capitalism are antithetical to high quality living for all. To generate the highest possible profit from your capital investment. That means paying your workers the least you can get away with. This is why socialism even exists. If capitalism worked fantastically for everyone in society, there would be no purpose for socialism. This has never been the case anywhere in the world.

To dismiss socialism as just a corrupt ideal is to dismiss billions of people all over the world as hapless morons bound to their fate. For better, or for worse, the 19th and 20th centuries have created the environment for the hapless morons to organize and wield power. Savvy capitalists understand this and provide wages and benefits to their workers so they can keep socialism at bay. You find this most often in privately held companies and corporations. Publicly traded corporations and the stock market is where you see the break down between capital and human being.

The World doesn't owe anyone a living.

He is unelectable.

"Barack Obama reportedly won the 2012 election due to his campaign’s mastery of Big Data. Hillary Clinton and the DNC have access to that data. It cost a fortune to build and they will use it effectively.

The Democrats will make a series of short videos and post them to Facebook, Google, Twitter, You Tube and Instagram. The videos will be microtargeted to the right demographic. Big Data makes it easy to target voters. My view is that the mother lode is on immigration and that the MSM will attack Trump’s (or his subcontractors) use of illegal alien labor in the hotel, golf course, restaurant and construction industries. Social media will amplify this MSM attack. The MSM ignore social media and the use of Big Data because Facebook and Google are eating their lunch on ad dollars. That’s why you don’t read much about how the campaigns use it to win elections.

Trump’s coarse and at times outlandish language and behavior can only drive his unfavorable numbers even higher. Jean Kaufman, for example, has written about Trump and eminent domain here. Kelo is practically a litmus test for conservatives and Trump is on the other side.

Think about what the Dems did to that fine man who is Mitt Romney. When the Dems got finished with Mitt, many thought he was a heartless murderer. A false accusation, to be sure, but it worked. In my opinion, the anti-Trump social media videos will result in a landslide loss for the GOP.

The GOP must win this election. Trump is not electable. Vote for a candidate in the primaries who can win in November. You have a number of good candidates to select."

NO ONE is immune from lies and distortion from the Dem-owned media.

Obama won because he is the Black Santa.

That' not accurate.

It's more like "Why get a job when the Treasury will borrow from China for you and steal money from the handful of producers to pay the interest"

It's not their money and it's not their debt. Unlike a hired management professional, there is no consequence for mismanagement and there is no personal liability should things go wrong. They sleep just fine.

Basically, the folks that run the country and the "economists" that advise them, run with the idea that the country is "too big to fail" and so far they are correct. What keeps us afloat is the mere fact that the rest of the world is worse off.

America's new motto: "We suck less"
