Since it is a generic of a drug for treating narcolepsy, I am going to skip looking it up and just go straight to guessing NO!

So far my favorite bit of quackery are the pills to make your telomeres longer.  In addition to being impossible such a biological action could give you cancer.

Heck, according to California, EVERYTHING can cause cancer.

The drug he referenced isn't quackery.  Provigil is a real drug, used to stimulate the brain and is legitimately used to prevent people from falling asleep.  That is exactly why the FAA doesn't allow it, it's a treatment for OSA, Shift Work disorder and narcolepsy.

I did look it up later.  Side effects include insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, hallucinations, depression and uneven heart rhythms.  Serious stuff.

sidejack:  Insomnia is a possible side effect of a drug that is intended to prevent people from falling asleep?  Well, that is shocking.

Kind of like the warning label on a sleep aid:  "may cause drowiness"

Yup, I thought that was kind of ironic too.
