I'm starting to think so, and it doesn't surprise me.

No.  This is a refuge from the world of political correctness.

What will the odds be on the riots being cranked up if Trump wins in November?

If Trump wins, the riots won't get cranked up.  But they may take off to a new level.

I'm scared to death that trump will lose, but I'm also scared of what will happen if he wins.  Four years ago, I would have put the odds of a civil war at zero.  But if Trump wins in 2020, I think something really bad will happen.  Among other things, I can see the divorce rate soaring.

I’m here, reading posts. I’ve ramped up my prayers for POTUS and the country. It feels like a good vs. evil battle to me. I’m hearing stories ... some people I know went into CHOP in Seattle and said they could literally feel the evil, on their skin. It was creepy.

If Trump wins in November, it will be he rigged the election, he had the Russians help him, he’s an illegitimate president, they’ll demand new investigations, talk of impeachment, etc, etc.

Who else is going to "threaten" to leave the US if President Trump is reelected?

I know who I'd like to see leave...

The world is such a calm, peaceful and unified place that there is nothing to post about.

Once in a while I look to see if there are any thread titles that don’t involve the real world right now. Then I escape back into a pretend world of dark, disturbing fan fiction that is so gloriously pleasant in comparison. I’ve disconnected for a while but don’t intend to leave this place for good.

Did the POA spin off SZ experiment fail?
Not for me. I was on vacation last week (ordinarily my Oshkosh week, so I took it off anyway), and checked out of most everything.

I didn’t log into work or check work emails.

I didn’t address personal emails.

I didn’t watch Tucker Carlson, or anything political.

I didn’t log onto SZ for the reasons above.

I did fly to Bessie’s Diner at Janesville (JVL) for lunch with 3 friends and fellow Warbird pilots.

I did fly to OSH, just because.

I did fly to a Food Truck Friday’s lunch at Waukesha (UES).

I did restart studying for my commercial cert - didn’t get very far - Wx was too nice.

I did spend a couple days (literally) hassling with Verizon and upgrading 3 iPhones to iPhone 11’s.

I did spend several afternoons and evenings day drinking with friends at a buddy’s hangar.

I did record and watch old episodes of M.A.S.H. and Columbo some evenings, because there literally isn’t anything else worth watching any more.

I did try to check out of most things that provide stress, and do things that relieve stress.

Let me add some perspective as someone who has been through this.

Roughly 10 years ago I was in a similar situation. A military BBS that I was a member of shut down the politics forum and a lot of people were not happy.  I looked into options and rather quickly set up my own BBS running on a Linux box with the emphasis of being a political discussion board for our niche.

Fast forward 10 years. It is frankly a lot of work to manage a BBS these days. Spammers are rampant and after 5 years, I had enough and shut down new registrations. People have drifted away over time and now the board is down to 5 regular posters. I think that’s ok. I will keep the board running as long as there are people using it, but at some point it will pass on and I will retask it to some other purpose.

My thought is that purely political boards are doomed. Eventually, one faction or another dominates and makes it uncomfortable for others and people leave.  Besides, who wants to listen to an echo chamber all the time, or worse a toxic hate chamber?

Give it time. When the board no longer serves a purpose, you will know. Meanwhile, you will find that participation just tapers off over time without new recruitment.
