Of course. Schiff spent yesterday constantly repeating "quid pro quo", although there is nothing in the articles, nor is there any proof of a quid pro quo. He also interjected, again, language not found in the transcripts of the phone call.

For example, when the charges are completely without merit (as in the case of this impeachment).
Understood.
In the case of impeachment, he doesn't have that authority, it still requires the senate to determine that.
Right now there are 45 senators ready to vote to dismiss (according to Rand Paul). He stated the more they have to listen to Schiff, the more unified they become.

The answer is no. The senate has that authority.
Article 1, Section 3
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.
Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.
