Rep. Val Demings (D.-Fla.) told a man commenting on her gun control advocacy that he was wasting his time – because her right to free speech "is different" from his.

OK, let's see what the DoJ is really made of.  If they move on this and appoint a Special Counsel, then Sessions is earning his keep.

If they ignore this, then it's time for a new AG as well as a new deputy AG.

They delivered an extensive, 14-point request for what a second special counsel should cover, including:

Allegations that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch instructed then-FBI Director James Comey to downplay the nature of the Clinton email probe
The FBI and DOJ’s decisions in the course of the email probe, including controversial immunity deals with Clinton aide Cheryl Mills and others
The State Department’s involvement in deciding which Clinton emails to make public
Disclosures in WikiLeaks-released emails regarding the Clinton Foundation and, according to the letter, “its potentially unlawful international dealings”
Connections between Clinton officials and “foreign entities” including Russia and Ukraine
Revelations in hacked Democratic National Committee emails about “inappropriate” coordination between the DNC and Clinton campaign against Bernie Sanders’ Democratic primary campaign
The “unmasking” of Americans in intelligence documents and potentially related leaks of classified information
Comey’s admitted leak of details of his conversations with President Trump
The FBI’s “reliance” on controversial firm Fusion GPS, which was involved in the questionable anti-Trump “dossier”

“Our call for a special counsel is not made lightly,” the lawmakers wrote. “We have no interest in engendering more bad feelings and less confidence in the process or governmental institutions by the American people. Rather, our call is made on their behalf. It is meant to determine whether the criminal prosecution of any individual is warranted based on the solemn obligation to follow the facts wherever they lead and applying the law to those facts.”

The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee is accusing top political aides of President Obama of making hundreds of requests during the 2016 presidential race to unmask the names of Americans in intelligence reports, including Trump transition officials.

Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), in a letter to Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, said the requests were made without specific justifications on why the information was needed.

“We have found evidence that current and former government officials had easy access to U.S. person information and that it is possible that they used this information to achieve partisan political purposes, including the selective, anonymous leaking of such information,” Nunes wrote in the letter to Coats.

The letter was provided to The Hill from a source in the intelligence community.

DoJ? FBI?  Congress?   Where's the Special Prosecutor?  Why are no warrants being issued?

At a Recode tech conference in May, Clinton said, “I take responsibility for every decision I make — but that’s not why I lost” — a sentiment she has also told allies.

“She believes she would have won and that Russia and Comey ultimately brought her down,” one longtime adviser said. “She feels validated by all the news circulating out there about Russia.”

Awan and his family have reportedly worked for House Democrats for years. He declared bankruptcy in 2012, but has made millions of dollars on the House payroll over at least a decade of work for various members, according to a Politico report.

In March, a group of House Democrats fired Awan and one other staffer over their alleged involvement in the scheme and the looming criminal investigation. However, Fox News reported Tuesday that Wasserman Schultz still has Awan on her staff's payroll despite him being barred from accessing the House's computer system since February.

At the time, Reps. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.) and Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) both defended Awan.

“As of right now, I don’t see a smoking gun,” Meeks told Politico in March. “I have seen no evidence that they were doing anything that was nefarious.”

“He needs to have a hearing. Due process is very simple. You don’t fire someone until you talk to them,” Fudge added

In the most vocal opposition to president Donald Trump yet, former CIA Director John Brennan said that if the White House tries to fire special counsel Robert Mueller, government officials should refuse to follow the president orders, as they would be - in his view - “inconsistent” with the duties of the executive branch.

"I think it's the obligation of some executive branch officials to refuse to carry that out. I would just hope that this is not going to be a partisan issue. That Republicans, Democrats are going to see that the future of this government is at stake and something needs to be done for the good of the future," Brennan told CNN's Wolf Blitzer at the Aspen Security Forum, effectively calling for a coup against the president should Trump give the order to fire Mueller.

Mark Steyn said that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of President Trump is 'banana republic stuff."

"We have a situation which civilized societies do not do, where they investigate someone in order to get something on them," Steyn told "Fox & Friends" Saturday.

"There's not even the appearance of normality here."

The appointment of a special counsel should never have happened, Steyn said, and is a "fundamental assault on self-government by the American people."

The "selective leaks" of sensitive information that have plagued this administration are the real crime, Steyn said.

Mueller expanded the Russia probe this week to include Trump's personal finances, including a 2008 Florida real estate deal. The president hit back in a statement, saying the intrusion was beyond the intended scope of the probe.

The only interference in the 2016 presidential election was not by the Russians but by the "deep state, the permanent bureaucracy, the media, the Democrats, and half the Republican party, who have not accepted what happened on a Tuesday night in November and have determined to interfere with it."

So the democrats are seeking to "rebrand" and come up with a new slogan.  "The Better Deal" will be their new slogan.

Just make sure when they roll out that slogan, put it above a picture of Schumer, Pelosi, Waters, Clinton and a few other democrat stalwarts.

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/343079-tucker-carlson-trump-attack-on-sessions-a-useless-self

I disagree with Carlson's analogy.  First of all, I don't agree with hiring "friends".  The problem with this is when they under perform you will be stuck with making some unsavory choices.

Secondly, I think Sessions was wrong in recusing himself on the Russia collusion investigation. Sessions did that for political reasons for himself with total disregard to the executive branch.

Trump is sending a message to the Justice Department.  Get your house in order, stop playing politics and get to work.  The Mueller investigation is out of control and violates many laws pertaining to special counsel since Mueller obviously cannot be impartial.  Rosenstein needs to be fired along with any other Obama hold overs.

Although Maine led the way in implementing work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependents who wish to receive food stamps, a lot of other states did not catch on until 2016-2017.

Georgia made headlines when thousands dropped off the state’s food stamp rolls after the state gradually rolled out food stamp work requirements starting in 2016. Other states such as Alabama soon followed, and more states are starting to find ways to decrease food stamp enrollment and increase employment.

At the federal level, lawmakers are working on legislation to take food stamp work requirements nationwide and reinstate time limits on how long recipients can receive benefits.

Spin Zone / Voter Fraud Database Tops 1,000 Proven Cases

As the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity convenes its first meeting on Wednesday, the issue of voter fraud in American elections has become even more contentious and hyperbolic.

One of the left’s main arguments against reform is that voter fraud simply does not occur. How liberals arrive at this conclusion, we cannot say.

Time and again, studies and analyses point to one incontrovertible conclusion: that voter fraud is a real and pressing issue that deserves serious solutions, and The Heritage Foundation has the evidence to prove it.

On Thursday, The Heritage Foundation is releasing a new edition of its voter fraud database. Featuring well over 100 new cases, the database documents 1,071 instances of voter fraud spanning 47 states, including 938 criminal convictions.
