If you have a complaint about a state law, who do you write to besides your state representative? Is there any point to writing to the AG? The governor?
-
know any people at newspapers... people that you would trust?
I know, I know.... I crack myself up.

There may be some type of advocacy or lobbying group you can go to depending on the issue(s).

Nope. There are none that aren’t extreme partisan one way or the other. I need to communicate intelligent facts.

Every state legislature has a speaker of the house.
The speaker usually has someone on their staff that handles writing laws to be discussed in the forthcoming legislative session.
That person answers to the speaker and the party in control of the house.
Thru the speaker's office is often the fastest way to propose a new law.
The second fastest route is usually the appropriate committee chairman for that bill.

That’s what I figure but I looked up all the authors and sponsors of the bill. I suppose I could snail mail them all, even the ones that don’t represent me, just to tell them what stupid idiots they are. It’s hard to email any that aren’t your rep, at least I’ve had trouble. I can’t find an email address and to email from the web form they make you type in your physical address. If they don’t represent you they don’t want to hear from you. Fuck them. I’m going to make them open a paper letter.

Good info. Thanks!
Edit: this is a bill that’s already passed though.

Senate President Pro Tempore's office (Pro Tem) as well.

Interesting. I know nothing of that office but look at wiki. Go down the list. Texas indeed seems to be shifting more red according to this.

In Florida the Senate President Pro Tempore is mostly ceremonial as far as pushing or amending legislation.
Don't know about Texas.

Amending. That’s what I want. I’m not going to get into details, something personal came up that made me realize a recent law is very flawed and needs to change. Suffice to say there are massively stupid fucks in both main parties. Probably the Libertarian party too but I’m ignoring them for now. I’m sick of them all.

Not in PA. But yeah, check your state.
