Do we have an admitted "libs" left? Haven't seen Steingar in a while.

I think he means JeffDG, and Kristin who were very actively anti Trump, and gave him NO SHOT.  I guess I must be a Trumpkin now.

I've read Jeff's posts for a long time. He is in no sense of the word a Liberal. So despite his views on Trump, this post doesn't apply to him. Not sure about Kristin, who considers herself a moderate.

Steingar seems to be laying low everywhere since he had the prop strike. I wish he'd come back, I enjoyed seeing opposing view points.

Gary, asechrest, Kristin, MarkZ, Witmo. Not all liberals but happily all provide excellent counterpoint.

Just checked POA to see if anyone dared peep about the election, and indeed, there are two locked threads. The MC lock thread says, "You were warned. Go find a political forum."

 :)

That's right he did have a prop strike.  An M20C lands differently than a Cherokee.

Jeff is a forum bully.  His only real interest are to start flame wars and try to push people around. The childish name calling and idiotic rants, most just wild exaggerations are used for his personal intertainment.  His political views make no sense and show how actual little he understands politics.

Kristin tries to hide under the "moderate" moniker but she is anything but.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I think Jeff was absolutely astounded to see tried-and-true conservatives supporting Trump, who looked nothing like a Conservative until it was politically expedient, among other dislikable qualities (keep in mind he is the most-disliked president-elect in modern times). And Jeff wasn't afraid to rub it in your face, just like you're not afraid to rub things in my face. But I've seen his post history and, while he's not afraid to give you his unvarnished opinion, he's not a forum bully.

PS - Jeff understands more about American politics and history than the vast majority of Americans. I vividly recall a "civics quiz" that was posted on the old POA, and he schooled most of us. Certainly schooled me.

Anyone who claims to be a moderate is in fact a liberal.

um, except for the people who really are moderates.

claiming to be one thing (e.g., a moderate or a far left liberal) doesn't make it true.

Kristin is a typical harpy, progressive, faux feminist, who thinks everyone should respect her opinion but has no responsibility to do likewise because she has (or supposes to have) a vagina.

I disagree.  That is why I think the Bell Curve is the most important chart in statistics and politics.  There is an area to the left and to the right of the center peak.  I live on the right side of the peak, but nowhere near the end point.

Someone has a crush!

She reminds me of aunt peggy and mari at POS. All self obsessed and lacking even a shred of integrity whenever the shoe is on the other foot.
I wonder if she has made up a sufficient lie to cover her claims to have had extensive business ownership experience.

I guess if one is way out there to the right of center, everyone looks like a liberal.  There is no reason that a person cannot pick and choose the best ideas from across the spectrum.  If that is your definition of "liberal" well... so be it.

I completely disagree with your observation for the following reason;
The division in this definition occurs when you examine the beliefs and behavior of the modern 'liberal' against the beliefs and behavior of  the traditional liberal.
Traditional liberals embraced freedom of thought and choice, whereas modern liberals hate free thought with every ounce of strength in their bodies.
Traditional liberals wanted to be free of the boot of the government to live as they please and be left alone.
Modern 'liberals' demand the boot of the government be upon every one, or else they claim that it's not 'fair.'
Modern liberals break into tears when they find out that their participation trophy upbringing doesn't square with the real world, and devote themselves to stamping out individual success in favor of equality of outcome.
The modern liberal has as little to do with liberalism as Barack Obama has to do with integrity, honesty and decency.

I consider myself pretty Conservative, but I also have Libertarian leanings.  I am very much a Constitutionalist, and believe we have Natural Rights as human beings, but the Constitution just enumerates certain rights, not all of them.

Some may consider me a moderate in that I don't care if LGBT people get married, believe in a safety net for people down on their luck, and don't care if people do drugs.  Just don't look for my money if you are wasting your life doing drugs.  Some say Moderates are people without convictions.  I don't agree with that at all.  Sometimes viewpoints are like a Chinese Menu and you can pick and choose which ones you want.
