Sensationalize it?  Yes!  Distort it?  No!  The media -- mainstream/old line and newfangled -- all want you to read/see what they offer.  That is how they make money.  Everyone tarts it up to a degree.  Most everything Trump says is taped, so there is little that can be distorted as the proof is there for all to see.

I this case, Trump was even given a chance and suggestion by the host that he walk it back a bit, and he doubled down.  It is not that anyone thinks he actually believes it.  That is not the worrisome part.  The worrisome part is that he runs his mouth with his brain in neutral.  Then to top it off, when caught out he can't admit that he may have misspoken, so he doubles down on whatever stupid thing he said.

The sad truth is that a lying, self-serving, probably corrupt politician like Hillary is a better choice the Trump.  Sadly, the best candidate on the ballot will not win, but I am still voting for him.

If you were going to hire a manager to take care of your family's finances and security, would you rather have an accomplished loudmouth or a thief?

For all those Donald supporters.  Is there a Rosetta stone or magic decoder ring that would allow us to figure out when the Donald is just using bluster, opinion, sarcasm, or just otherwise joking?  How to we tell what he truly believes?  There have been so many contradictions, deflections and walk-backs that it gets pretty confusing to sort this out.
You can start by ignoring 90% of the talking heads.

Did you really need a decoder ring to believe he literally meant that Obama founded ISIS?  Are you so jaded that you can't see that Trump actually had a valid point; that Obama's and Hillary's actions and policies made ISIS inevitable?

I agree with you that the Democratic leadership is solidly and willingly behind Clinton.  But many of the followers, who through ignorance or naievity usually blindly follow the Democrat talking points are starting to wise up to Hillary.  Maybe not enough, but many.
To follow on to my own post a bit:

The Democrat leadership is behind Clinton because that is how they intend to retain their own power.  Their power is derived from making the population dependent on them and government.

The general democrat population however, generally thinks they are doing the right thing and being nice.  In their naievity they think that giving people stuff will make them grateful and cause them to become productive.  Some of these people are beginning to see through Hillary.  But they still cling to their naive philosophy that human nature can be legislated and directed.

And an AR-15 is a M-16 modified so it's sales would not be restricted by the NFA. There have been further modifications over the years to get around various "assault weapon" bans, but they are silly and minor. We can dispense with all the silliness we want but the Left will not. They will argue that the AR-15 still retains nearly all of the characteristics that make the M-16 a great weapon of war.

You really need to learn history.  Because your knowledge is flawed, your entire post is invalid.

The M-16 is a modified AR-15.  The AR was the first gun, built and designed prior to the Vietnam War.  The ARmalite company sold the AR publicly and then sold the design to Colt who turned it into the M-16 and made it the weapon of the US Army.

The design of it was nothing new. I have a Sears Ranger .22 "rapidfire" rifle from before WWII which operates on the same principle - a bolt is pushed back by the expanding gas, a spring returns the bolt to position, picking up a new round along the way.

Now, using your newly acquired knowledge, go back and read what you wrote.

Your beloved RNC couldn't produce a message, couldn't produce any unity much less a candidate people could get behind and endorse.

And the Republicans working to sabotage the election are only driving more people away from the RNC. With these shenanigans going on what will the next election cycle look like for the Republicans?  The RNC is starting to resemble a third party

Out of ~320B people in this country, the GOP couldn't come up with someone more appealing that Trump? Seriously? And now they're kicking Donald to the curb, which basically amounts to broadcasting "Vote for Hillary" from every mountain top. The GOP is now dead to me.

Done. Toast. Stick a fork in it. Dead.

I don't know who or what is going to stem the tide[1] at this point, welcome to the Socialist States of America.

Move the Republican Party to the right, at least the Presidential campaign, and it'll run smack into Hillary.  Trump's more liberal than she is.

Fucking ridiculous.

I'm starting to believe that you and your ilk have been RINOs from the very beginning, with faux anger towards the "establishment GOP" so that you can nominate a candidate who will do what you liberals have been unable to do - beat back every conservative movement possible, and advance a progressive agenda within the Republican Party.

Well played. But your over-the-top hatred of Ryan belies your love for a candidate who's conservative bonafides could fit in Paul Ryan's back pocket, they are so small.

I'll bet you disqualified Romney for not being "conservative enough" too, right?

You know I think what you need to do is wrench the Republican party further to the right.  Then it will cease to exist because nobody will want anything to do with them.

Hopefully you wouldn't call me a RINO.

I find it intellectually dishonest of the anti-gunners to not define terms like "weapon of war"

They can't define it but they know it when they see it.  ;)

Interesting... Ryan strikes me as a pretty level-headed intelligent guy.  Has a horrendous job trying to corral all the Republican House members to actually govern the country.

Republican who kowtows to Democrats in the minority =  level-headed intelligent guy

Republican who tells Democrats in the minority to pound sand = raving Right Wing lunatic

Haven't heard a peep from the mainstream media on any of this.  ;)

Color me not surprised. MSM totally in tank for any D regardless of how repulsive.

Ryan is not perfect by any means. However, he was also left with a steaming pile of shit from Boehner that he had to dispense with.

Remember, he's only been Speaker for nine  months.  I think he's a man of character, and believe that's what carried the day in his district. (I'm about a mile from the northern edge of his Congressional district, so I didn't get a chance to vote for him, but I would have if he were my Representative.

I'm not speaking about you, Gimp, but I find it interesting that the harshest critics of Ryan are demanding conservative purity, but are strongly backing the most liberal person to ever to win the GOP nomination. See Sarah Palin, Ann "Skelator" Coulter, lucifer, et al.
Understood.

Speaking for myself, given that we do have a liberal (for the GOP) candidate (much like the last 2 times IMO) I want the Speaker and the Senate Minority/Majority leader for the GOP to be staunchly conservative to help offset that.  I had high hopes for Ryan but have been deeply disappointed in his leadership to-date - it is no more accurate to pin the blame this far out on Boehner than it is for Obama to blame Bush IMO, but I get what you are saying.

However, I think Trump's economic policy/tax speech, and his list of potential SCOTUS nominees cover the vast majority of my small 'c' conservative objectives for FedGov, add in the moratorium on new reg's and withdrawal of previous Executive Orders and the platform is something I can get behind, even if the personality delivering it is problematic.

But how is Ryan actually doing as Speaker Stan?

Is he being effective at opposing destructive policy?

Is he communicating and representing conservative values?

Is he reducing spending or taxation?

Seems to basically be Boehner 2.0 but with less tears and not quite as tan, which is terribly disappointing since he 'was' previously regarded as an intelligent and true conservative.

Can he be rehabilitated?

Hillary's functions are so tightly controlled, it is hard to believe he got there, behind the stage in full view of the audience and cameras, without someone arranging it or at least knowing about it.
