Delay said it in a letter he wrote to the judge in the case Hastert asking for clemency, after Hastert had himself admitted to the pedophilia. Apparently, according to Delay one can diddle little boys but still be a good Republican.
Hastert was the longest serving speaker of the House. He had secure phone to the White House. For the next 15 months he'll be federal inmate number 47991-424. A fall of Shakespearian proportions.
He wasn't even convicted of the child abuse, statute of limitations ran out. Just the cover up. Got off pretty light in a way.
