OK, that's pretty funny.  Trump fans should find it funny too, but I haven't heard any reactions about his flip flop.

Look, Stan. Trump knows words, ok? He has the best words. And if in fact he did flip flop, which he didn't, it would be the best flip flop, and everyone would love it. And just to be clear, there is nothing wrong with his penis, either, and he can assure you of that.

It's all part of the deal.  I'm sure he didn't plan on making concessions so soon but he needs to convince people that he is an acceptable alternative to Hillary.

You don't have to like him, you just have to recognize that another corrupt, lying president is unacceptable.  How's that for a campaign slogan?

Well, except for the fact that he's revealing himself as a corrupt, lying presidential candidate.

I know this is going to come out sounding wrong. And I admit it doesn't help his case any. But I was never in love with Trump anyway. I just added his pluses and minuses and compared him to Hillary and I chose him over Hillary. And as much as I hate to say this, I may yet change my mind about that.

But I'm glad he flipped on this. Deporting 11 million illegals was never going to work anyway. It was one of his minuses. Now it's a wash.

But I hope he doesn't back down on protecting the borders. Even if he doesn't build his wall and stick Mexico with the bill.

Well, the options are thinning pretty quickly.

I read that Bill Weld, Gary Johnson's running mate on the Libertarian ticket, said that AR-15s are a "weapon of mass destruction."

I've only been able to find that quote on websites that I've be moved heard of before, so I'm not going to post a link until I get some confirmation, but if true, there goes any hope for a libertarian ticket to take charge.

Gary Johnson is also reportedly for a carbon tax too.

So what is the solution then? If we aren't going to deport them and we let them stay, that's de facto amnesty because states are already letting them vote (illegal or not). If you aren't going to build a wall (physical, digital or both) then what are you going to do to keep them out? We are not a nation unless we have borders.

Their solution of course is to do what Hillary wants to do.  Which isn't all that different from What Trump just said. I have been amused asking people here to explain the difference between the two.  One of the more coherent responses was "Trump wants to put all illegal immigrants in jail".  Some could not describe the difference.

Just deporting all illegals sounds like the logical solution, but it is wholly and entirely impossible and impractical.  And it is not even necessarily desirable in ever case.

My solution would include the following:
First (1st, #1, do this before anything else):  secure the border.
 -  This could include a wall, it could include more border guards, robots, dogs . . .   I would even hire other illegals to help patrol the border and for every attempted intrusion they prevent, they delay their own deportation.

Then:
 -  Reform LEGAL immigration procedures to expedite the process.
 -  Eliminate the minimum wage so that employers can legally  hire citizens instead of illegal aliens. (and tighten up the unemployment compensation laws).
 -  Deport any illegal convicted of even the mildest violent or financial crimes.
 -  Outlaw any sort of financial benefits to illegals.
 -  Eliminate automatic citizenship for those born to illegals.  (I personally know of a couple that snuck in, had three kids that became citizens, then they got their green card because they had legal family living here (ie their kids)).

After a period of time of successfully instituting the above, require that any remaining illegals register themselves as such.

If the above works to a satisfactory solution, then and only then can we consider a path to legalization for the remaining, registered illegals. (This would not be citizenship, it would be legalization to work and pay taxes).  Nobody that sneaks in after we implement this plan would be allowed to register and would never have any path to legalization.

Eliminate any foreigners from gaining employment in the US as long as a US citizen can do the job. Importing foreigners to take jobs a citizen can do hurts this country.

That sounds good in principle, but the challenge is how?  The typical approach to this has been to place the burden on businesses to do the job the federal government has failed to do.   Which is to identify, and keep out illegal immigrants.  Government agencies who fail in their mission are granted ever-increasing budgets because of their failures, while private businesses are served up with ever-increasing, costly regulations and fines for their non-compliance.  It's real simple, if we don't want them working here, secure the borders and keep them out.  We are either a sovereign country, or we aren't.  The federal government should have to major functions: defense and border security.  The current administration is destroying the former and continues the long line of administrations that have failed miserably with the latter.
