For more than two years the American people, in a great majority, from left to right, have been in revolt against the political class and the financial elites in America. It is a revolt with historic parallels, most closely resembling the Jacksonian revolution of the 1820s. It is an uprising. It is a peaceful uprising of a people who see a country in decline and see nothing but failure in the performance of their leadership institutions. And they have signaled their intent to take back their country and to reclaim their sovereignty.

I just read this as well and it is eye-opening.
Caddell is an old-school Liberal and a true-believer but still has his moral compass more or less intact and remains a very solid commentator.
The research in this piece is fascinating and would seem to suggest we should see a landslide tomorrow, although that is not at all what I expect. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see it tomorrow but I don't have as much faith in the system and the institutions of Government that I had in a pre-Wikileaks world - and I don't think any Republican can put together a strong enough performance to overcome the margin of fraud with the Left being emboldened by the repeated failures of the system to punish wrongdoing.
That said, Caddell's research does provide some hope for our fellow man in that even if we disagree about the specifics a majority seems to agree that something is wrong, and the it really does boil down to the establishment vs the people. The successful movement should be the one to capitalize on that, not just for this election, for making America great again going forward.

That is indeed fascinating, especially the numbers. I tend to go around in a cloud of doom thinking most people don't see that the self-serving governing class and complicit press is the problem, and that if we put down the labels, we could come to a fairly close agreement about what is important.
This gave me a wave of nostalgia:
In 1980 the mainstream media was far more even-handed in its coverage and prided itself on journalism and not partisanship.
