Once again, Democrats are on the wrong side of the expansion of constitutionally guaranteed civil rights.

"expansion"?
um, no. Restoration would be more accurate
Protection would also be more accurate.

No need to "restore" them, just clarify and standardize them. The feral gummint should only protect and enforce the Constitution, and exersize the Rights given under the Constitution. Nothing more, nothing less.
Amendment X
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."
The states and the people have the last say.
Unfortunately beginning with FDR that amendment has slowly been usurped.

It'll be interesting to see if he pushes for this. I guarantee you'll hear Democrats whining that this violates the 10th Amendment (they'll whine this time because it's convenient for them). The only way this works is if we get conservative justices on the SCOTUS that can uphold it. That means that President Trump will need to nominate young justices who can remain on the court for a long time.

When the states signed off on the Constitution to become part of the Union, then they ratified the 2A. When they did this they gave up state's rights for those issues covered in the Bill of Rights. This is not a state's rights issue, but a Constitutionally acknowledged NATURAL RIGHT. The states that restrict carry of firearms by those that are not prohibited are doing so ILLEGALLY.

That depends on whether or not you believe in the incorporation doctrine. It wasn't until Chicago v. McDonald that the SCOTUS incorporated the 2nd Amendment into the Constitution.
