Title: Ford to expand in Michigan instead of Mexico

Ford is canceling plans to build a new plant in Mexico. It will invest $700 million in Michigan instead, creating 700 new U.S. jobs.

Ford (F) CEO Mark Fields said the investment is a "vote of confidence" in the pro-business environment being created by Donald Trump. However, he stressed Ford did not do any sort of special deal with the president-elect.

"We didn't cut a deal with Trump. We did it for our business," Fields told CNN's Poppy Harlow in an exclusive interview Tuesday.

Well, well.  A pro-business environment.  What will that feel like?

More likely that they will say that Ford was going to cancel the Mexican plant anyway and that it had nothing to do with Trump.

Ford admits they didn't cut a deal with Trump, just optimistic at the economic environment that will thrive due to his pro business, and pro jobs policies.  Look at the renewed strength of the DOLLAR.  That tells a lot.  Everything is a balance, however.  Strength of the dollar, inflation, interest rates, etc.  Hopefully, they will find the right equilibrium in order to foster reasonable, steady economic growth.  I'd like to see between 4.5% - 5% GDP growth in the next year.

The economic illiterate progressives will be along to rail about how this offense will cost the country money.
