Late Tuesday evening, before Trump’s scheduled Wednesday press conference, BuzzFeed published a fake news report on entirely unsubstantiated allegations from a supposed intelligence report that has since been largely discredited. CNN, the cable news network, ran with the story too without verifying it. The motive was to push the fake news controversy out into the narrative and force Trump to respond to it at the press conference—without ever actually checking to see if what they printed was accurate or verifying it at all.
It turns out, in the wake of BuzzFeed’s and CNN’s decisions to run with the fake news stories, the entire narrative has crumbled:

The real story here is that McCain hates Trump so much that he paid a staffer to fly to Europe and retrieve this report (the dossier) and bring it back so he could present to the agencies that had already had it over year and knew it was nothing but garbage.

Michael, do you understand that this thing was pure bullshit. Fact is that it was used in a briefing with Trump to illustrate to him the kind of pure crap that is out there about him. It has nothing to do with it being about Trump, it has to do with it being flat out false and CNN came up looking like the fool.

Oh, it was all over Fox, Breitbart, and a host of other sources. It really made CNN and Buzzfeed look like the tools they are. It was a perfect example of CNN attempting to promote a fake news story.

OMAHA (DTN) -- With the Bayer AG-Monsanto Co. merger now pending before federal regulators, a spokesman for President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday that Bayer AG had made several commitments regarding that merger and investment in the U.S.
Sean Spicer, a spokesman for Trump, said in a daily morning press briefing that Bayer AG CEO Werner Baumann had committed to investing $8 billion in research and development in the U.S. Spicer also said Bayer had committed to maintaining 100% of Monsanto's 9,000-plus workforce in the U.S. and also would create at least 3,000 new jobs in genomics, robotics, satellite-imagery specialists, engineers and advance biotechnology, Spicer said.
At the same time, Spicer also said Monsanto's headquarters would remain in St. Louis.
Spicer made the statement that even though the acquisition details were public, the job details were new. "This new domestic expansion has not been broadcast anywhere previously and was not something that was in the works with Monsanto and Bayer previously," Spicer said. "The reason for this commitment and expansion is because of the president-elect's focus on creating a better business climate here in the United States."
In a statement Tuesday, Monsanto and Bayer AG noted Bayer's Baumann, along with Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant, "had a very productive meeting" when they met with Trump last week in New York to pitch their merger to the president-elect and his team.

Didn't the CIA brief the POTUS and the PeOTUS about possible Russian information regarding the incoming POTUS? I believe that really did happen. The Buzzfeed information, however, was crap. The linked story included this update:

I used to work with a guy, phd in sociology who had worked in academia and couldn't stand it so he came to private industry where he thrived, he worked as a director of manufacture and excelled. Anyway, he used to lament how teachers and professors were some of the most ill informed people on the planet. He used to talk about studies done to prove the fact. Things like a large percentage could not name current events, some didn't even know who their legislators were. He said in the university setting, many of them would just sit in their echo chamber and make fun of and vilify anyone with an idea different from theirs. I always thought he was just pissed at his old job, now I wonder if he was right.

Eight years have clearly showed us what Obama is and is not. He is a socialist, he does foment division, and he shows a very strange and dangerous willingness to softpedal the Muslim immigrant violence problem.
Legitimate criticisms. What concerns me most is that Trump will do the difficult, unpopular things to stop the madness and decay of liberty, and the left will spin it into fake criticisms because any success he has will exaggerate their own failures.
Voter ID for example.
