Not gonna happen, but in the unlikely event it did I would leave Kommiefornia even as great as the flying environment here is.

Moonbeam just raised gas tax by 42% (already highest in the land) - think CA makes more on a gallon of gas than ExxonMobile and the distributor.

My sentiments also. I lived in Folsom, Pleasanton, San Jose, and Aptos. Spent about 10 years in the state. After moving to Oregon in 2005 and getting my pilot certificate, I've flown to a few California airports: Garberville (O16), Fort Bidwell (A28), and Reid Hillview (RHV)) from Creswell (77S). Great places to visit, but never wanted to settle down there.

By rights, Jefferson State should be created at the same time. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_(proposed_Pacific_state) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_(proposed_Pacific_state))) It wouldn't be fair to northern rural Californians who vote conservative to be dragged along. If that happened, I'd suggest to the wife we move south to Jefferson State.

Give it a little more time, considering the current demographic trend permitted and encouraged, and a majority will vote to (re)join Mexico.

We already have plenty of the appropriate flags.

The only downside i see is that the border wall will now have to be much longer. Norther california really should break away and let all the moonbats in the bay area and socal try their little experiment. Wonder how much we should charge them for water?

Bob, regarding thread title, it should be "secession."

We were going to look at a plane in Garberville once, but the owner was a tad flaky and we couldn't pin down our disquiet until we started to learn that Garberville is a hotbed of the pot industry.

The big problems I see with secession are indeed the sweeping of innocents into the lefty craziness, people who would have to sell up and move to remain with the rest of us. And of course the horrific destabilizing of our union. See "Civil War."

And, the dissolution of STATES RIGHTS.

As far as secsession of a state, that in no way should lead to a civil war unless the seceding state declares war or we once again have a president that would use such an occurance to provoke a war.

As far as California is concerned, it would be a good riddence that the remaining states would embrace.

Not living in Cali-Mexi-Fornication, no one out there cares about my opinion, but I do support splitting California into two states so the pathetic snowflakes and hollywierd freaks can go down in flames in their half, while the adults live just fine without having to carry them.

As for civil war, how many of us would support a war to prevent those freaks from leaving the US? It would be very hard to get people behind anything military to 'save' the country from losing such a worthless bunch of idiots.

Don't ignore the obvious here. There are many great, hard working, tax payers in Cali-Mexi-Fornication, but the lunatic fringe has destroyed the state and become a brutal drain on the rest of us.

Remove all federal funding, take out all federally owned property, tax anything they wish to export to us and let them devolve into a cannibalistic cauldron of idiocy, because that's what would happen.

Cut off all the water from the east and let them actually work to solve some of their own challenges. That, in itself, would be great entertainment.

The Dem's won't allow this, since it would make them a small regional party across the remaining states - the majority of Hillary's popular vote margin came from CA, without CA she would have lost in a Reaganesque landslide.  Literally marginalized almost to the point of the Libertarians or Green Party.

Never gonna happen.

And FWIW, south SoCal, basically other than LA/Orange County, is fairly red and would not fit in Mexifornia politically.

Let's sell CA to the Chinese. It will get rid of the malcontents and pay off the national debt in one move.

Lots of questions would have to be answered.  National Parks, would California be required to purchase that land from the U.S.  How about any airports that took U.S. money, would some portion of that need to be paid back?  What about any SS money paid in by CA residents, what happens with that?  Would the U.S. nullify any U.S. passports held by residents of the new country?  Many, many more questions.

other questions:

for the US citizens currently owning property in california, who would buy their land?  How would US citizens be properly compensated?

What about california's share of the Federal debt?

^^^^^^^^This.  Governor Moonbeam, and the Dems that control both houses of the legislature would never allow it.  Also, the DNC will not allow it due to what acrogimp said.

Forget Succession.  Let's just kick them out.  Democrats will never win another election.

The details would work out just fine. As far as SSI, any non-citizen would have to individually petition the government for special consideration, or moonbeam could just print some money and pretend it has value. The Moonbeam administration, along with their special envoy, Nancy Pelosi could crawl to DC and politely ask the President to allow the US passport holders to have a limited special consideration while Moonbeam and company print their own. I am sure George Soros would run up and offer to fund it all for Moonbeam and the Botox Broad.
