Title: SSI
Post by: gerhardt on February 23, 2017, 11:38:57 AM
I've mentioned before how the vast majority of SSI is a scam.  Government giving disability handouts for people with drug, alcohol, emotional distress, etc. problems that prevent them from working.  I read this morning that Jesse Jackson Jr. was convicted several years ago of looting his campaign fund of $750K and did some time.  He's now collecting $138K/year in SSI and workers comp (from being a senator at the time) payments for his inability to work because of emotional distress.  Normally it's so far out there that it's beyond belief, but apparently the Chicago Tribune did their homework.  His disability is related to a bipolar disorder caused by the stress of his job.

And I thought my job was stressful.  Apparently, not stressful enough.

My work is incredibly stressful right now. I think I feel schizophrenia coming in.

I used to think that too, but I convinced myself otherwise.  It was quite an argument, we couldn't agree on much and even now there are parts that we just have to agree to disagree.

They still have to look in the mirror at the end of each day.  Creeps.

There are legitimately disabled people who are disabled by mental illness.  They are a very vulnerable population and need this assistance to live.  There are also many shills who take advantage of this.  I don't understand how anyone could have an income of  $138,000 and get SSI.  Something seems amiss with the story.

I used to have friends (used to) that made a career out of scamming SSI, and the bankruptcy laws.  Its seems these scams go hand in hand.  The wife is on SSI disability yet works under the table for her husband's retail company taking, and fulfilling orders, and doing other things.  Prior to the bankruptcy laws changing, they purposely ran up their debt (credit cards, new car loans, etc) to renovate their home, and buy all new furniture, and cars.  Then they filed CH 11.  Nice, huh?

When liberals STOP seeing stupid, lazy, idiots as nothing but controllable voters, and giving away our tax dollars to lock up their votes, then come back and talk about SSI.
