who is Samantha Bee? Never heard of it.
-
Wow.
Samantha Bee is a leftist caustic bitch pretending to be a comedian.
-
It seems many "comedians" are far left KOOKS. That's why they do what they do. Sarah Silverman, Amy (Chucky's niece) Schummer, Rosie O'Donnell, Woopie Goldberg, Joyless Beggar, Patton Oswalt, etc.
-
The level of unintelligible bullshit that comes from progressive pretending to be comedians is sickening.
-
99% of the so called comedians use rude, insulting, and lude comments to get laighs. Apparently, since they generally sell out their shows, it is what people want. Those of my youth; Red Skelton, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Jack Parr, Johnny Carson; never needed offensive comments to get a room full of people to laugh. We see the same crap in so called sitcoms. Or late night tv.
I see nothing wrong with the kid's haircut. I would have assumed he was a military or LE recruit.

I am appalled at what I see on TV, especially network TV as they are supposed to be held to a standard, as they use the public air waves. The level of vulgarity, and subject matter is disgusting. No, I no longer watch because of that, and the constant promotion of liberal progressive politics. It is helping to brain wash generations.

The fallout has been funny if not predictable, after getting called out for calling this cancer patient a Nazi, Bee tweets an apology to the kid and his sister and removes his image from the piece accusing all the other young people at CPAC of being Nazi's, but leaves the rest of it up.
Apparently, it is only beyond the pale to accuse cancer patients of being Nazi's on the basis of a haircut, but it is OK to call everyone else Nazi's. Godwin strikes again.
The outright cultural, political and historical ignorance that passes for erudite intellectual humor (based largely on the level of self-righteous smarminess of the presenter) is strongly tied to the unfortunate success of the Left's propoganda indoctrination via public education and pop culture.
We have a long slog ahead of us to root out and defeat this nonsense and nincompoopery.

It's kind of sad when the only comedy worth watching any more is old Blue Collar Comedy Tour skits. Bill Engvall's flight with the Thunderbirds is my favorite.

I believe schools have stopped teaching the word "hypocrisy." The teensiest but most powerful step would be to ensure that all children learn well what it means, and to recognize it in action.

I can't get it to be Non-Facebook link for some reason. I'd like to send it to friends who aren't on FB but am unable.
I've seen some 6 minute clips of that skit on YouTube, but the one I have on FB is 17 minutes long. That's the one you want to see.

No, I could see Becky's quote. I was talking about the 17 minute Bill Engvall skit on his flight with the Thunderbirds. For some reason, I found it on FB, but when I get "copy link" it's a link to FB with my name. I don't know how to just get a link to the full segment without it being connected to FB. As I mentioned, there is a 6 minute clip on YouTube, but the full clip is must see.
And no, I don't log into YouTube via FB. I don't know what that means or how to do it, or why you would do that.

I've been (re) watching the old Dean Martin Roasts. Absolutely fall out of your chair hilarious (esp Foster Brooks and Rickles), not a single vulgar word spoken. Compare those to the "Comedy" Central Roasts- unbelievable in terms of language and subject matter.

I have watched some of those also in recent years. The talent on that stage is amazing. Yes, the shows are family friendly, but they would not fly today due to Political Correctness. Only minority comedians can do ethnic/racial humor now, which along with vulgarity is all they have. No talent compared to the past.

A while back my wife dragged me to see Dave Chapelle when he was in town. I'm not into watching modern comics as I don't think they're funny, but she kept telling me how funny and witty he was. Um, OK. I guess calling all women bitches and all men niggahs is really funny to most people, judging by the big laughs he was getting. I guess cussing every other word is funny too? Easily entertained, I suppose. The warm up guy was even worse. I tried really hard not to roll my eyes most of the night.
Meh, that's a $100 and a couple of hours I would have rather put towards flying, so I will put this one in the good wife karma category. ::)
Mr Pou, taking one for the home team.

I'm finding it difficult to go to any performance and just be able to enjoy the talent without having my sensibilities insulted.
In the old days, performers kept their ideals to themselves, if not just out of courtesy. I think that ended with Brando and his Oscar "non-acceptance speech."

Everything is politicized today. Everything. It is a purposeful strategy to keep us divided, and more easily controlled. Yes, I too thought that was tin foil hat material a few years ago. Not anymore. I read Saul Alinsky, Frank Marshall Davis, etc.

Remember seeing aired live. Nothing on TV today is remotely as funny.
