It took a while for me to figure out why I couldn't quote and reply to a post.

The OP can lock a thread.
Seems his feelings got hurt and he resorted to his safe place.
-
LOL! Too bad, so sad!
-
I have another open, I promise, it won't be locked even if y'all gang up and call me a poo-poo head. lolz
-
Didn't even know a thread could be locked by anyone, much less the OP, and not sure how it got locked.
I unlocked the thread. Have no desire to lock threads, and I don't think that feature should be there.

First of all, fuck you. ;)
Second, of most people here, this site is the polar opposite of a safe space for me. That's why I come here, 'cause it's NOT a safe space for me. Now for you, on the other hand, this is your spot to pleasantly participate in a circle jerk, except when I throw a wrench into things by inserting my opinion. So sorry!

You don't pay attention, do you? If you saw where the unlock button is, it's the same place as the lock button. On this program the OP has the ability to lock or unlock his thread, no one else except the administrator.

The OP should not have the ability to lock a thread. I vote to have that turned off.

You poor thing, mistaking macro aggression for micro aggression.

This is not a Democracy, but a Representative Republic. Votes don't matter. :)

Didn't know we were voting on that. I think we just let each individual decide on what's right for themselves and govern themselves accordingly.
What a concept huh?

Au contraire, this is a website! But if you insist, I vote for a representative to represent my interests to the website administrator whom I hope will consider my representative's lobbying efforts toward turning off the lock feature for anyone but the administrator.

I'm shocked that you would admit there is something you don't know. How very unlike you. Are you feeling ok?

Sounds like a valid opinion.

No sweat.
I have no doubt that you never intended the thread to be locked and accept your explanation because I do things like that too.
When I make such a mistake I do notice how scandalized liberals act as opposed to conservatives but still find no fault with your accidental locking. Shit happens and sometimes un-happens.
No Sweat.

Hey, I appreciate that, Number7.
I like to think my reputation here, such that it is, at least proves I can hold my own without needing to shut down a thread.

Well, then why did you shut down the thread?
;)

But he didn't............it just mysteriously shut itself down..........then mysteriously opened itself again.......

I feel left out.

None of the threads I started show any controls for locking them.
"Four legs good, two legs bad."

No, only votes from non-deplorables matter.

Russians meddling in our forum.

Hmm, really? I just spot-checked some of my created threads. Each of them have lock/unlock privileges now at the bottom of the first page. I'm not sure whether that's new or not. I only discovered my current privileges after seeing a lock icon next to my thread today and discovering the buttons at the bottom of the thread.

Odd. Now I see lock/unlock at the bottom of threads I started. Could have sworn they weren't there earlier. "See and avoid" they say - yet I can't see buttons in plain sight. I'm doomed to eventual mid-air. Or somebody is messing with me/us. Who runs this joint?

I have never seen or paid attention to them easier. I know that I have often hit the wrong button and didn't notice it until nothing happened, then I hit the right button.
Shit happens. It's not all partisan.
And I don't think you (Asechrest) are a snowflake.
Just a flake. ;)

It's the Russians again!
-
it's Hilary's IT guy, consulting with the DNC IT manager, who then transfers the data to the Russians, who give it to CNN, who use it to shut down our threads.

While I may not agree with you on a number of things I appreciate you coming here to present an alternative point of view in the manner that you do. I'd be very surprised to find that you had intentionally shut down a thread.
