Another amazing game tonight. Back and forth, great plays on both sides. Every game in the series has been exciting, but tonight is remarkable. If you aren't a baseball fan, then don't bother replying, we don't need to know your dislike.

There are no words to describe the craziness.

What’s with all the stupid beards? Some sort of demonstration or statement.

I know. I call Justin Taylor "Taliban Red." WTF?

Facial hair? You guys wanna talk facial hair? Well, ok. I think it goes back to one of the Stanley cup playoffs maybe 20 years ago. Maybe the Red Wings? entered the playoffs, and most of the team didn't shave. They took it as an omen, and no one shaved all the way to the end. Then, it seemed to spread to the major leagues, and it became a 'thing' not to shave during the playoffs. Of course, some of the guys seem to take it to a whole new level.
Dan Fouts wore a beard for his whole career. He was told when drafted that he had to shave. He didn't. Since he was a player, and his own agent and a QB, they wrote it into his contract. I guess we can blame Dan for the whole beard thing.
As for the Series, I've been pulling for LA to get in, and also for Houston to get in. Now they are both in, I don't know who to pull for. Since Houston would be the underdogs, I guess I'd like to see them win one. They were tight through the first 4 innings, and then they just sort of let it all hang out. Back and forth all night. They need to stay loose, and pick up a game in LA now, which they know is possible.
-
I'd rather they demonstrate with beards rather than disrespecting our country. The World Series has eclipsed the ratings of the Super Bowl second year in a row!
-
Ratings should pick up after some folks realize what they missed last night. Now it's nail biting time. On paper, LA should have this wrapped up, but that's why they play the game.

I get hockey. They stop shaving when the playoffs start.
I just don't understand the Taliban look in anything - MLB, NFL, or even Duck Dynasty.

Thank my Cubs for that!
MLB's biggest problem is the length of the game. My God I flipped back at 2200 Central and it was only the bottom of the 6th!
Batters need to stay in the box; step out of the box (except for follow throughs after a swing) and it should be a called strike.
-
Agreed. There needs to be some limits. The only time you can leave the batters box is if you swing and hit, foul or miss the ball. If you don't swing, you stay in the box. If you do leave the box, no goofing around, adjust the jock strap and step in, make the ump signal ready for play, no matter where the batter is. Only ONE catcher/pitcher conf per inning per team. Replay only for tag-outs, all other outs are called on the field and no replay. Enforce the balk rule consistently. From the set, if you make ANY other move than toward the plate, you have to throw. Step off - balk, rub your nose - balk, adjust cap - balk, fake throw to base - balk. Would take 30-40 minutes off each game.

My Dad loved all sports, but especially Baseball. As a kid, I'd get dragged to Double Headers all the time. Nothing like spending EIGHT HOURS plus drive time at the ball park. Ugh. And the Phillies sucked back then. (like they do now)

Was that back at Connie Mack stadium? I might have seen you there.
My brother still has a couple of foul balls he caught there. I got one one time, but the ball hit some kid behind me and I picked it up off the ground. I got booed till I gave it to the crybaby.
Those Phil’s sure were a bunch of bums, but we still loved them.

At the minor league level they keep a pitch clock. It starts at 20 sec. and counts down until the pitcher goes into his wind up.

YES! And then later the Vet. Richie (Dick) Allen, Johnny Callison, Chris Short, Jim Bunning.....
I hated the Vet, but went to the opener of the stadium, I think it was April 10, 1971. It was 40F.

Interesting. And what happens if he doesn't, or the batter is adjusting his gloves for the 18th time?
-
Never saw them not delver in time.

Game 7, Houston bats are SMOKIN' hot!
-
This game reminds me of a Long Days Journey Into Night...
-
Reminds me of a pale imitation of last year's Series...

2016 was a snore fest, from two has-been teams. Look at the line cards stats for both series. First four games of 2016 were never in doubt. Got a lot better last three games, game 7 was outstanding. 2017 the whole series was good. Record number of HRs, two games into extra innings, Springer tied Reggie for HRs in a series, home field advantage change(Dodgers, on the losing end), Houston is a WS virgin. No comparison. One good game in 2016, six good and one great game in 2017.

Cubs. pfft
They should wear pink jerseys. They should all have tassels on their shoes. I'm sure they all drink apple-tinis and/or wine spritzers. The bend-over boys club.
Meh - call me when their field is free of rats, badgers, and poison ivy. Which will be, never. ;D
