Just a friendly note that if, like me, you grew up reading Arthur C. Clarke, Harlan Ellison, Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradubury, Robert Heinlein, Frank Herbert, Kurt Vonnegut, Larry Niven, Orson Scott Card and more - and if, like me, you kind of were expecting us to be a spacefaring race by now - whatever you do, do not read anything about Chris Robert's Star Citizen crowd/player funded Massively Multiplayer Persistent Universe space sim.
Currently in an iterative release of the playable alpha, this thing is jaw droppingly beautiful, is reasonably faithful to Newtonian physics (think Babylon 5 vs Star Wars/Star Trek), and has a rich backstory/lore that is being built not just by the developers but the players themselves. They designed the persistent universe to be only 30% explored leaving something like 400 star systems that will be procedurally developed (saves system resources on local computers), making for an incredibly immersive experience that allows you to play solo or form or join organizations - it is really very impressive (I am a casual not hard core gamer so some of this all new to me).
I have followed the development of this sim for a couple years and kept swearing off trying it but late last week I bought a couple starter ships and game access for myself for my birthday and while an incredible timesuck I don't regret it at all, it is a great way to spend some coin and time since the real world has not quite caught up to my expectations.
You have been warned. ;D
Here is my current most-of-the-time starship 'The Strzelecki' a Mustang Beta light scout/explorer named after Sir Pawel Edmund Strzelecki, a 19th Century Polish Scientist and Explorer. Sorry for geeking out but Polish on my Dad's side.

I've never been a "gamer" so what you are describing may as well have been written in Cyrillic.
But I can see why you do this. Flying your Yak must be so boring and repetitive.

I am a man of varied interests and capabilities. 8)
It will be good for the 5 or 6 days a year I truly 'can't' fly the Yak due to weather, like yesterday.

What platform is this game? Maybe, perhaps, on iOS?
Sent from my iPad . Squirrel!!

PC only Mark - really pissed off a friend of mine who is an iOS guy.
It is beautifully rendered even at this early stage and will only get more immersive as they develop more storylines and more of the ships.
