After last night’s State of the Union address, the American Civil Liberties Union was extremely upset at the fact that President Trump used the word “America” more than 80 times throughout the course of his speech.

How dare he!!!
We all know the President should have been praising other countries! I mean, after all, aren't we the "United States of the World"?

The ACLU has pretty much lost any credibility as an organization that defends liberties. They have skill and power, but they are are so blatantly partisan that they are probably bordering on being forced to register as a political organization.

No, you are confusing the rules for partisan conservatives with the rules for partisan liberals.

I’m offended that the ACLU has “American” in their name.

NPR was interesting this morning. They had a Dem pol on (I forget who), talking about Trump's speech, and he was relatively disarmed by the narrator's point that Trump is offering a path to citizenship as part of the deal.

That's going to be a hard thing for them. Their hatred of Trump is going to give Republicans the opportunity to steal the issue, solve the issue and put it to bed without Democrats. But I somehow doubt that Republicans are smart enough to do it even though it would be a huge coup for them and a huge disaster for the Dems.
