Title: Here we go
Post by: Becky (My pronouns are Assigned/By/God) on March 09, 2018, 11:23:11 AM
Heard a disturbing news item on the radio yesterday.  In Ontario, they're floating a law that if a person identifies as someone who wants to die by a doctor's hand, the doctor SHALL BE REQUIRED to comply.

The law literally states that if you are a doctor and don't want to kill someone at their request, you must either give up your license OR change your field to something that doesn't deal with death, like podiatry.

I hope this law dies.  But when you think about it, it's just cakes and flowers extrapolated to a new level.

I would Like your post, but it makes me too sad.

Put me in jail, but I will not compromise my values for you.  While I respect the authority of the courts and of the law, both pale in comparison to the authority of God Almighty.

All I could find that seemed relevant to back your story up is the following story, which isn't just "floating a law" but rather a final court decision:

https://arpacanada.ca/news/2018/02/07/ontario-court-decides-reasonable-force-doctors-refer-assisted-suicide/ (https://arpacanada.ca/news/2018/02/07/ontario-court-decides-reasonable-force-doctors-refer-assisted-suicide/)

Quoting:
Ontario doctors who have religious or conscientious objections to practices such as abortion or doctor-assisted suicide (euphemistically called Medical Assistance in Dying) will nevertheless have to give effective referrals to their patients for the procedures. Either that, or they’ll have to change their medical specialties into areas where these things are not an issue. That’s the upshot of a unanimous ruling of a 3-judge panel of the Ontario Superior Court, issued on January 31st.

The ruling addresses a legal challenge filed by the Christian Medical and Dental Society of Canada (CMDS), several other organizations, and five individual doctors, who all argued that a referral policy by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) was a violation of Charter guarantees to freedom of conscience and freedom of religion. But the Court found that the referral provisions represented “reasonable limits on religious freedom, (which are) demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society” and that there is “no factual foundation establishing an infringement of the rights of … religious physicians.”
...
Sean Murphy of the British Columbia-based Protection of Conscience Project says the implications of the ruling are truly stunning because it “authorizes the state to compel citizens to become parties to homicide and suicide. If the state can force people to become involved in killing other people, there is virtually no limit to what it can demand.”

Me - I'm not surprised. Sean Murphy should not be surprised because the state has been compelling citizens to commit homicide for as long as they have had forced military conscription. The state in both cases is merely being consistent in the application of its core principle: it owns everyone's ass.

Liberals love to shout about a women's right to choose, without the courage to mention that they are screaming for a womane's right to commit homicide.

They keep pushing their cult of death but inventing cute words so they don't have to face their psychopathic choices.

It won't be long until courts order doctors to start killing every conservative old enough to retire, pretending that it is to lessen the burdens of growing old, you know.

That fucking traitor Obama pushed that into the death panels and libs simply changed the words to soothe their guilty consciences and avoid facing themselves in the mirror.

Democrats - liberals - progressives - communists are little more than a cult of death and psychological sickness far worse than the mentally disturbed they are so afraid of. I'm sick of funding their mental illnesses from homosexual marriage to sexual confusion. The democrat aprty has becoem a rolling mental ward, headed by freaks, crooks and socio-pathic hypocrites.
