This is certainly historic.

Let's watch the MSM play this down since it was only a few months ago they were declaring that the President was going to start a nuclear war with NK.
We'll also watch the progressives go into a melt down if Trump gets any deserved credit for this. Hillary must be slinging ashtrays across the room this morning.
-
All the hard work of the Obama Admin has finally achieved its goal. :o
-
Maybe BHO should get the Nobel Prize for this?

Peace on the Korean Peninsula is a milestone moment in world history. This is to be praised and celebrated. Don't let this moment pass by without notice.
Put on FB this morning by my leftist son. Notice, absolutely no mention of Trump.
-
I really hope this is the wave, the end game. However, I have to be a bit Reagan and stick with 'trust, but verify'. The Norks have been -- mercurial in the past. Luring and dangling strokes of peace on the face, and working furiously in the background to stick in the shiv.
The two times I was stationed in Korea were some of the best times of my service. As a people, they are industrious and fun to be around. I believe the south is truly honorable in wanting a lasting peace, and ending the stalemate of the armistice. However, we haven't and can't hear from the Norks citizens about what they think of this. The nation is really a closed hermit kingdom. Change from that is going to be hard for Un.

You have a good memory. That is Hillary's standard response any time Bill got caught having an affair, including when he got back from Pedophia Island.
Former President Bill Clinton was a much more frequent flyer on a registered sex offender’s infamous jet than previously reported, with flight logs showing the former president taking at least 26 trips aboard the “Lolita Express” -- even apparently ditching his Secret Service detail for at least five of the flights, according to records obtained by FoxNews.com.
Clinton’s presence aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s Boeing 727 on 11 occasions has been reported, but flight logs show the number is more than double that, and trips between 2001 and 2003 included extended junkets around the world with Epstein and fellow passengers identified on manifests by their initials or first names, including “Tatiana.” The tricked-out jet earned its Nabakov-inspired nickname because it was reportedly outfitted with a bed where passengers had group sex with young girls.

What does this have to do with Korea? Nothing. I wish the Koreans Rotsa Ruck! Oh, wait, that's Japanese. Never mind. :)
^^^^^^^Racist!

Doesn't matter what he did or didn't do, Trump deservedly gets the win. It was on his watch, and he didn't bollux it (and who knows, perhaps it was his bellicose rhetoric that moved Kim to the table). And yes, it is truly historic so long as they go through with it.
-
This has much to do with the fact Kim is flat broke. He has squandered his (NK's) wealth chasing nuclear ambitions and got played by the countries that supplied the goods.
NK doesn't have much industry and people are hungry. Basically he will ask SK, China and the US to forgo tossing him out (regime change) in exchange for him to denuclearize and finally end the Korean War.
Kim will need to flush his concentration camps and destroy them. He then can follow the lead of the Chinese by implementing capitalism but keeping his communist government. The money will flood in, Kim can keep up his lifestyle and NK will come into the modern world.

Do you think the USSR would have dissolved under Barry Milquetoast?

I think this is pretty much spot-on. His nuke test station just fell apart last week. He has two nickels to rub together, and he knows where the wealth is. To his south. He's keep his iron hand on the nation, but allow some semblance of capitalism to sneak it and bring up the standard or living. Which - isn't hard when they are currently at or near the bottom with nations like Botswana, and Ivory Coast. Hard to go anywhere but up, and the $$$$$ is just a few miles away, with people who speak the same language.
-
If I were Trump, and I were a skilled poker player(I'm not, and I'm not), I would announce a unilateral stand down of the US nuke forces, and a restructuring plan to move them out of the SK peninsula. Even if we have to move our strategic forces to Japan, or even further south to Okinawa, we can still pound NK to dust in a matter of hours, including are sub forces. It would cost us almost nothing in strategic terms, and by a huuu-uuege public relations coup.
-
I’m in the we’ll see camp. Kim has done lots of things, and he says lots of things. One good thing is given the right reign he has over his government, if he’s really committed to this he’ll not be stopped by his security services. But it is a long haul even with everyone willing. A unified Korean Penninsula would be the next Asian economic powerhouse.
-
There are two issues with the overall coverage of the Korean agreement that make me wonder how true, or complete it is.
I suspect that China would not be very open to standing while another economic powerhouse popped up in the region and whether the littlest midget is actually on a finding mission, not a peace and unity mission.
He's always promised things to get lots of money and now that a President with testicles has refused to fall for his ploy, he might simply be running down a different hallway.
-
As stated earlier, Kim and NK are dead broke. The clock is ticking and if he doesn't do something soon, he may find his ass swinging upside down from a flag pole.
Calling a truce, ending the Korean War and opening trade with the south is a win for him. He needs to convince the SK, US and China to let him stay in power while he moves into capitalism. And I don't see that as an obstacle.
Where the real problem lies is bringing NK out of the stone ages. This is going to be a massive cost no matter what. And what about SK and a potential flood of NK people coming south to reunite with family? Again, lots of potential problems.
Ending the Korean War is a good thing. Bringing NK into the rest of society is also a good thing. But it will be a long road ahead.

I remember when Germany reunified. It was very expensive, and East Germany had a lot of environmental problems that had to be dealt with, costing even more. I hope this happens in Korea. I think private industry will make some very large investments there which will help the reunification process. Hyundai, Samsung, Kia, Posco, etc are probably looking closely at that potential work force.

I'm waiting for CNN to accuse Trump of colluding with North Korea or the 9th Circuit declaring the war must continue.
-
One more example of how the MSM pisses me off:
A few weeks ago, I read in a bunch of liberal pubs "Trump Says North Korea Agreed To Denuclearize - But That's Not True" They called him stupid, a liar, naive etc. How would they know if Kim said that to Trump or one of his staffer?
But now when they report that Kim did indeed say that he would agree to denuclearize, under certain circumstances, they act like they have amnesia when they say Trump lied.

The MSM is trash and has zero credibility as demonstrating again over and over. The unhinged mouth foaming progressives still can't get over their butt hurt from 2016 and vow to burn down the building if they don't get their way, and their voice (MSM) is just too happy to oblige.

If Trump found a cure for cancer, the media and left would howl that he put millions of doctors and nurses out of work.

I it weren't for hypocrisy, liberals would have no family values at all.
I've never seen such angry, petulant, hysterical, ignorant people before.
When facts become racist, you know you are dealing with unhinged idiots.
