Christmas is looming and like an idiot I've decided to make stuff to give everyone. Last year it was cranberry relish. This year, candles. I haven't learned yet.  :-\

I enjoy the xmas season so much more these days that I no longer live near family and no longer attend family events and the requisite gift exchanges.  Now if I could just convince radio stations and stores to stop play that goddamn music.

Coal for everyone!  Doing my part to help the coal miners in PA, WV, KY, WY, etc.

In recent years we hadn't been able to celebrate with my oldest son and his family as the chose to use the Christmas week for cruises or other trips.

I broke up from a girl about three weeks before Xmas, so I was surprised to find she had sent a very nicely wrapped present. Inside? Yup, a big lump of coal. At least she had a sense of humor!

I like to cruise and go on trips, but I can't think of doing that over holidays. I would hurt someone. A few years ago we booked an all inclusive and a bunch of spring breakers where there. Thought we missed spring break season. One night I had a drunk 18 year old college kid on the ground in a headlock because he kept trying to force himself into our room. He was too drunk to understand it wasn't his room after multiple attempts.

I guess she was upset that she didn’t get a chunk of a different kind of carbon from you.

I always want to fly on Xmas, since there isn't a whole lot else to do for us wogs.  I think the wx has cooperated exactly once, and that time the hangar was snowed in.
