He is too self absorbed, and narcissistic to bother with inventing anything. Barack Obama would be the type to claim he invented things.

What was the New Yorker attempting to say with that?

No idea, I guess you would have to ask them. The only parallel I can draw is- George Washington = 1st president, Barak Obama = 1st black president. Other than that, it is a mystery. Maybe it sort of a bookend thing. One is the beginning of our country and the other is the end of our country.  ;)

Ouch!  Accurate, but ... Ouch.

Well said.

The wig is clearly cultural appropriation.

Why then doesn't Trump just run as an Independent?

That would be very bad, as it would split the R vote, resulting in a landslide victory for the D's. Remember Ross Perot?

I think Trump would be the first candidate that could pull it off.  And it would break up the binomial monopoly.

I think you and many others way over estimate Trump's likely performance in the general election. There are a whole load of people (myself included) that absolutely loath the man. I believe the same as others, an independent run by Trump would split the GOP vote and guarantee a Democrat victory. I see no evidence that conservatives would abandon the GOP almost unanimously, or that a significant number of Democrats would abandon their party for Trump.

Yeah, the 60% unfavourable rating that Dear Leader has makes him winning the general election almost impossible.

I think that is probably a good thing in the end. He would be a terrible president. I swear, if it comes down to Hillary vs. Trump, I think I will sell everything and move to one of the Caribbean Islands and take my chances. At some point I would rather watch the destruction of America from the outside.
