Title: That's an impressive amount of influence you're wielding there.
Post by: JeffDG on February 18, 2016, 08:12:41 AM
Almost as bad as Henning's urban gardening kickstarter:

But three months later, The Daily Caller’s Evan Gahr reports that ASMC’s FEC filings show that they had raised exactly one donation for $25. On the other hand, they managed to rack up $10,345.44 in legal fees, $3,000 in web design fees, and a $100 loan.

Hey, don't sell Shultz short.  He raised 250% more than Henning's project to extract $10 million from stupid people.

The difference is, Henning didn't spend $13,445.45 on his swindle.

I was always amazed at the folks at PoA who couldn't see through Henning' bullshit.  He had quit the cult following there.

Convenient excuse to use that he wouldn't have time since he started working with RT. Never mind the debt he racked up in comparison with the one donation he received. One less progressive PAC to worry about.

Did Henning get banned from POA or did he just leave?

Banned.

Banned.
What, specifically, led to his banning?

As crazy as Henning is----Banning him just made no sense.  It appears he just upset the wrong person on the MC though. What a crock that they won't disclose the exact reasons for banning folks.

He must have insulted Bryan.

Not entirely true. That forum has rules and everybody knows them going in. Henning blatantly violated those rules by cussing people out and personal attacks. There were a number of posts he made that were pretty off the rails and he was no longer the goofy uncle with new age bull crap ideas. He became on occasion a mean drunk.

He broke the rules, people complained to the MC, they warned him, he broke the rules again, they put him on time out, he came back and broke the rules again and basically said fuck you, I'll type what I want and he got banned. I don't blame the MC one bit. You either have rules, or you don't. If you have them, you have to enforce them or it's pointless. There are thin skinned people over there that complain too much, but still, rules are rules.

Ya wanna be mean drunk with a keyboard? That's what this place is for, not POA.  ;)

Sure, I agree to a point---but when only certain folks get punished and others get a free pass it's hard to believe it can be called reasonable. Then again...their forum, their rules.

Agreed.  There are posters that continually break rules there, but due to their connection with the MC they are given passes.

The Henning character was off the rails and took it to extremes.

I had him on ignore, but even the I found his presence disruptive.

I took a screen shot once and he was the most recent poster in something like 7 out of the last 10 posts. Which in and of itself is fine, and the only way to get to 50,000+ posts.

Problem was, most of those posts did not forward discussion, as he feigned expertise in areas he knew nothing about.

His post stating that killing all his passengers, the more the better, if and when when he committed suicide, and that he'd be doing them a favor with a quick death, was the sign of a sick mind, whether it was his true feelings, a "joke", or a troll.

My conclusion was there was something seriously wrong with him and it tended to dilute the content of the forum.

In my opinion, of course.

I never really thought much about Henning, other than his crazy rants on energy.  However, the only feedback I remember of him was from some people I know that had dinner with him once.  I was invited, and declined.  The only thing they said about him was that his language was very, very profane.

I think you are spot on. The guy displayed some serious psychological problems.

And others who break no rules (ie. talking about SZ outside of SZ was never a rule) who have conversations locked.

I have heard many times of this secret group, but have never seen evidence of them.  Care to share to whom you are referring?

True, enforcement was pretty random it seemed, but I think it all comes down to the complaints they get. How many and the severity and that's what the rest of the forum members never get to see.

I felt the same thing. My impression of  him over the years went from aviation's Dos Equis guy to the crazy old uncle in the attic to a seriously disturbed individual.  I was done engaging him quite a while ago.

Ed should be right at home there.

I'll bet most people who watch that channel don't know that RT stands for Russia Today.

It does?  I had no idea what they were getting at there with RT, as if we should all know what that meant.
