The back story is that two female UW Whitewater students went to a spa to get a facial, and they posted a picture on snapchat while wearing exfoliating masks. They thought it looked funny and wanted to share it with friends.
Some black students took offense, saying that they were in "blackface" and were insensitive.
The university chancellor went into full snowflake panic mode, and had to discuss it with these two girls. The chancellor then convened a pizza party to discuss race matters, blah blah blah.
What should have been done is for the chancellor to tell the snowflake complainers get a grip on reality, and knock off the false charges, and take a reality pill.
This is what happens when you look at EVERYTHING through the racial prism.
Unfuckingbelievable.

"The student body president said she's spoken to the students who posted this photo and she’s convinced it wasn't done maliciously. But, that awareness is part of the issue here on campus.
“Students still need to know from an educational standpoint this is the history of this and this is where it comes from,” said Allison Hetz, student body president.
"Reginald Kirby with the Black Student Union said he doesn't think the post was malicious, but said it's brought some issues to a head, coming in the midst of discussions on racism on campus, including a meeting next week with the chancellor.
“Somebody can walk into a classroom and say ‘I hate all of you black people,’ (and) there's no consequences,” Kirby said. “We're just going to sit you down and talk to you and ask you not to do it again. But, if somebody in university housing is caught with liquor, they have to take a class, they have to be educated on what they did and why is it wrong. It is a great place and it's full of diversity, but it's that lack of respect for the diversity, and that's what we're going to change.”
"Sen. Steve Nass, who represented the Whitewater area, blasted the university for overreacting on Thursday, calling it “a stark example of how political correctness has warped the mindset of highly educated university administrators.
"The students will not face punishment for the photo.
"There are several diversity workshops being organized across campus to help race relations."

Did they call in a racial sensitivity consultant to make sure they weren't "whitewashing" the issue?

To answer the OP title question; Yes. Yes the not only can be but are that stupid.

Stupidity is an infinite resource. And that's their problem. Since supply is infinite, and demand is vanishingly small, the market price that they can sell their stupidity for is nil. Which explains their disdain for the free market.

How many of those snowflakes will spend the next ten years living off their parents, and unemployment/welfare??
I suspect far too many.

Wonder what would happen if someone started a White Student Union.

Well, those poor souls would be forever explaining the difference between their White Student Union and the KKK.

It's impossible to skew something toward someone without skewing it away from someone else. Hence, gays come out of the closet, and florists and photographers have to pretend to be booked up for their weddings. So "love" creates a "lie."

Skewing is one thing......
Allowing BLACK entertainment television and not WHITE entertainment television is outright racism... IMHO..
And the other examples I stated too..

PBS had a special on the other day about the Black Panther Party. I just finished watching it on DVR, learned quite a few things including that one of their spokesmen (I'd have to watch again to know which one as they had quite a few) once said, "White Power to White People. Brown Power to Brown People, Yellow ... Red ... and Black Power to Black People." He was an interesting orator and bridged a lot of gaps between seemingly disparate people. They also established international ties. I never knew that.
The Honorable Elijah Muhammad also said that, "The White man should try to stay White" and that 'its natural to want to preserve your race'.
I agree.

Why would BET need to be "allowed"? That's what the 1st Amendment is all about, isn't it? White entertainment television is all the rest of TV, they just don't bother to label it that. BET was created decades ago because some black people were sick of just seeing white entertainment. They wanted programming created by black people for black people. Since that time, black entertainers have made their way into mainstream entertainment and the need for a special black network is likely less relevant than before, but they're obviously making money and have viewers, so why change?
There is nothing to prevent anyone from starting a WET network, there is just nearly zero demand for it. There may be a few out there that would love to see apartheid programming, but most do not.

Yeah, they could bring back "Leave it to Beaver", "Father knows Best", "My three Sons" and a few others and call it WET.
(yawn).

I have no problem with ethnic/black specific shows, or causes. However, since the 60's network TV has bent over backwards to over promote "causes" due to their agenda. Blacks, and gays represent a disproportional element, and that's fine. People, including myself have stopped watching network TV as it is very crude, overly sexual, and deviant.

While I understand where you're going with this sentiment, I will disagree with the term "reverse discrimination". IMHO, there is no such thing. There is only discrimination. Nit picky, yes, but I'm the one doing the picking so it applies :D

I doubt you can substantiate that with facts. I surmise that it appears that way because you don't want to see/ hear it and so it gets a disproportional amount of your attention.

No I don't want to see Gays on every TV show when they make up 1% of the population.
