I'm not familiar with either of them.  Yes, you may want to add "The Adromeda Strain", "Soylent Green", "The Omega Man" (I am Legend), and if things get really bad, maybe the Apes will take over, then the other Heston Sci Fi, flick, "Planet of the Apes" may be in order.     ;D

I’m going for total escapism: True Blood. It’s like Dark Shadows in that it has vampires and werewolves but instead of a lot of sexual subtext there’s a lot of actual sex.

The "Executive Orders" storyline is at least somewhat apropos of what's happening now.  Howevder, it would be best if you read "Without Remorse", "Clear and Present Danger", "Sum of All Fears", and "Debt of Honor" first.

I watched the first two seasons when I had HBO a long time ago.  It was pretty good.  They could have found a girl with bigger boobs than Anna Paquin though.   :)

Did you know she was married to the guy that played Bill Compton (her vampire boyfriend) in real life?

Also, the guy that played Lafayette died in 2014 from trying to withdraw from alcohol on his own. But alcohol is “nonessential” during a shutdown so I don’t see how that’s possible.

Also later they bring on Melissa Rauch, who plays Bernadette on Big Bang Theory. She’s got huge ones. You’ll have to go finish the rest of the seasons.  I don’t know how many episodes she has, so far only two. She might get killed off or might become a regular. I could look it up on IMDB but don’t want to spoil it.

No, I didn't know the two main characters were married in real life.  I like the Big Bang Theory so I know Rauch, and yes she's got the goods.   ;D  I didn't know she was on True Blood.  Was that post Big Bang or during?

She shows up in season 3 which is 2010, I don’t know when the Big Bang’s were made.

I started watching True Blood on Amazon Prime and made it half way through season 3, but now Amazon has dropped it from prime and is charging to watch it.  Oh well.

I just binge watched "Bosch" the last several evenings and it was pretty good.  Now I am watching an Australian show, "City Homicide" which is pretty good also.

I was thinking about watching Bosch.  Maybe I'll give it a try now.

It's well done and worth the time if you like that genre.  Plus Jeri Ryan is in some episodes.

Damn!  My husband is watching it, he's not even through the first season.  Amazon Prime did that to me with Dark Shadows. They had all episodes free with Amazon Prime until a couple months ago when they moved it to something called "free with ads" partnered with IMDB.  I was through episode 1096 out of 1245 total episodes.  I will NOT watch it with ads!  I was going through the whole series, I wanted to complete all 26 seasons, I was midway through season 22.

If I don't want ads, I can pay $2 per episode or $30 per season.  I'm not going to pay $98 to finish what they were giving me free a few months ago!  Not free, I pay the Amazon Prime fee every year.  I feel like it was bait and switch.

If you want another good vampire series that is still free on Amazon Prime (at least was until last week!) watch "Being Human"... the BBC version!  With Aidan Turner as the vampire. He's my favorite new actor, but all three main characters are amazing, but only through the first three seasons, that's as far as I got. I won't spoil it but at the end of season 3 something happens that made me lose interest. But the first 3 seasons are amazing. Actually it's not just vampires, it's about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost who are all roommates.

HBO was running it free during stay at home time.  This, The Sopranos, a couple of others.  Not sure if that is still going on.

Started reading the new Hunger Games book.  It's fairly good so far, say a 6 out of 10.  I'm sure it will improve.

True Blood had seven seasons, and I thought Anna Paquin did just fine thank you. Southern Gothic at its finest.

I made it through to the end before they switched to paid. It stayed pretty solid all the way through. I thought it was very well cast.

I think I got to see the first three seasons when it first came out and when I still had cable and HBO way back when.  Anna Paquin was very good.  No worries.  But I am used to women more like this is vampire stuff.  :)
